Helen,

Except for the dark pigmentation (sounded like 's but don't quote me,

only going by stuff read, and things previously said here) you sounded like

how I felt for years!!!

Couldn't get anyone to listen/believe me etc. Thought I was going mad,

stopped trusting doctors (still don't) it was my eyes one week the muscles

around my eyes the next. Heavy leaden legs, like all my muscles just

collapsed everywhere. Overnight I could not open a screwtop jar as I had no

strength in my wrist to do the turning, and no strength in my arms to exert

pressure on the jar. I had to buy old people gadgets to open stuff. It does

get better, you are not losing your mind, you will get help support and

understanding from this site, your a fellow hypo after all!!! Welcome to the

club. Just remember it probably took a long time to get so unwell - years of

it creeping up on you - it will take time to heal.

Nikita-Hi I have been through all this and I know how hard it is to think

life is worth living, but it is.I have had this 20 years. My Dr. had to try

different meds. To make along story short, don't give up, except that you are

sick, rest when you nned to or watever, but I am now on a antidepressent, nerve

pill, blood pressure and levothyroxine. I will not try to make you think I feel

great, but after 5 years of my Dr's getting my meds better, I will say I do more

now than the last 10 years.Try to enjoy what you can, God has giving us alot and

don't fell guiltty for being sick, it took me a while to realize that. HANG IN

Hi Nikita,

how r u?pls be cool -don't worry so much,i'm also an indian lady of the same

age group. But now i'm in canada so hypothyroid treatment is very advance in US

or Canada. But pls don't worry ,b'cos i was having the same problems like u (what

u r facing right now)and don't think about alvidar b'cos its a very expensive

medicine ,i have tried that medicine for 6 months continuosly but no use:(it

wasa big waste of money:((.

Can u tell me what r ur dosages of thyroxine b'cos that is the only medicine

available in india. But i can tell u that it is imp. for a thyroid patient to

have t3+t4 together but in india we have thyroxine(t4) available in allopathy

but u can go for " guggal " this has (t3).I have started taking pure guggal from

last 4 months and i have started noticing some nice changes in my body. You can

contact some nice ayurvedic doctor and talk about guggal or if u have internet

at home u can do lots of studies about guggal.I'm 100% it'll give u very very

good results b'cos my case wasn't different from u at all.when i read ur mail i

thought to write u immedietly b'cos ur case is exactly same like me.....but

don't worry dear nikita there is still a big hope in our matter.Consult some

nice ayurvedic doctor + pure guggal(there are so many catogries of guggal but u

sraech only for guggal(t3)u'can improve ur knowledge :)so u can discuss with ur

doctor in a better way.

And don't worry if ur thyroid tests reports says all the time normal b'cos

this is very very very common thing in thyroid test:)we have terrible pains

,wt.gain, hair loss, memory loss, fatigue etc..but nobody can understand our pain

the way thyroid patients can:)

So, u need t4(thyroxine) as well as t3(Triiodothyronine)u can get t3 in guggal

http://www.ayush.com/articles/spot.htm

o.k nikita GOD BLESS YOU AND HE'LL HEAL U SOON COMPETELY FROM UR WT. GAIN AND

OTHER THYROID RELATED PROBLEMS..U NEED TO BE PATIENT THAT'S ALL

http://www.healthmart2000.com/item626.htm,

U can read about ashwagandha also, b'cos thyroid imbalances gives us so much

depression, frustrains n all but ashwagandha is really helpgul in that too:)i'm

taking guggal and ashwagandha both and i have personally seen best results:)so

cheer up my dear friend.

If you are not getting any benefit form weight loss and depression medicines it

would be better to stop taking them (after discussing with your doc). These

medicnes have many side-effects, some of which might be contributing to your

symptoms.

Nikita,

Be encouraged, I understand...read a lot of posts on this board, as I have

found that you have to take a holistic approach for this disease. It is not

easy, but it can be done. You have to look at all factors, and make changes.

Diet, exercise, stress, can all play a role. Don't give up. I've heard that

Alvidar works, but you can read the ingredients, and maybe get the individule

herbs. I know for me, I use co-q 10 with antioxidants, kelp, b vitamins,

selenium, and zinc. I eat a vegan gluten-free diet, juice carrots daily, drink

pure water, exercise by walking, get sunshine when possible, and pray pray pray

for healing. Don't stress, as this will cause the body to do more harm.

Don't give up!

Blessings,
