Guest guest
yes I think they are good too. I have been using Iosol 300mcg iodine but I just ordered iodoral and am going to try 12.5mg iodine per day. I come from iodine deficient area/Great Lakes/Buffalo NY. The research on iodine is very interesting, for example that it completely cures Graves/hyper! (the right amount). Can you imagine instead of getting RAI, just getting iodine? Big difference in misery and $$$. Guest guest
Absolutely agree with you...I come from a deficient area as well...Rocky mountains. I am so amazed at the people in my own community that could be " poster children " for thyroid disease, and they don't have any idea. I have learned to pick them out in a crowd...and it's scary how many people I personally know, that are having trouble one way or the other, that are totally clueless as to the reason. I know personally three people that have had their glands removed in the last six months, and at least eight to ten " hyper " people...probably more hypo ones. Why arent we teaching any of this in school? The ignorance is simply astounding to me. The adults that I know, who have no idea what a thyroid gland is and what it does in their body...frightening. And even more frightening, is the blind trust that they have in the docs treating them. When I make suggestions about alternatives...they look at me like I'm some kind of loon.... How do we as a people get to be such drones? AARRGGG. .
Guest guest
It's so bad that there is no health in healthcare, b/c of this for profit system we have disease management instead. I work with a 22 year old girl, overweight, sick all the time, but her neck has completely disappeared it is so swollen. Her doc tells her her thyroid is " normal " and gave her diet pills. What lies down the road for this girl who just separated from her husband? I just got iodoral and have taken some, not sure what the right dose is, so experimenting. Guest guest
well Armour works for most peeps but you need to get enough of the right meds. Weight and mood means you need T3 added. Have you looked for another doc? http://www.geocities.com/thyroide Gracia >I am sooo confused... I want sooo much to be able to feel better... Guest guest
Too bad about that girl...it frustrates the heck out of me when I hear those kinds of things. I have a friend who is a single father of one son, and this father has obvious hyper symptoms. His son has obvious HyPO symtoms...his neck looks like the " michelin mans " This child is a friend of my son's, and I mentioned to Ed if he had ever had kasey looked at for thyroid trouble, and he didnt even know what the gland was....or what it did. Kasey has also had allergy problems for as long as Ive known them, but every medication he goes on makes things worse (typical) and they always get the same answers regardless of the physician they visit...different drugs... I wonder what will be down the road for him as well...he is 13 and is way behind in my opinion puberty wise...I guess because it doesnt appear to be life-threatening, or isnt debillitating enough yet, that they just keep accepting the lame excuses for whats going on with him. His dad Ed, is constantly in " overdrive " but without a navigation system...he's always go, go, go...but gets no where. He has very high anxiety, and his palms get hot and sweat at weird times. He has never ending hunger, and sleeps poorly and his eyes do buldge, but he doesnt think about it much because it has always been that way. He turns to alcohol to calm himself, which of course only causes more problems. You know...like you, I know what I know...and I have offered my help to them, but no one takes you seriously when you don't have a degree...??? How do we come to trust healcare professionals so blindly?...it's amazing to me that so many people don't think to question anything even when it doesnt make sense to them, or their instincts tell them different. Guest guest
Heya, Now I have a couple questions after reading that... Does alcohol has bad effects with hypo? Or he's just an accessive drinker is what you were getting at? Also bulging eyes? Is that a symptom I never heard of? ×´ ¨) ¸.·´¸.· ´¨) ¸.·*¨) *~ Nikki ~*`·.´·.¸¸.·´¨`» Visit My Blog -- Re: gracia/iodine Too bad about that girl...it frustrates the heck out of me when I hear those kinds of things.
