Guest guest
your labs do not " look good " to me. This is the problem with treating to the TSH. The new range is .3-3 and you are well out of it. If you have hypo symptoms they need to be treated! Don't treat the test paper and don't treat other diseases. Guest guest
I fully believe I am out of range too. I believe it cause I feel it. The problem is that even last April when it came back TSH 1.36 and Free T4 1.6 I still felt like crap. I always do no matter what the labs say. Thats the frustrating part. Plus I have to keep upping my dosage every 4-6 months in order to maintain a good result in the lab. Thats what makes me think there is something else wrong. Guest guest
go for the T3 therapy - it helped me heaps! Kerry Got my labs back My labs came back from the endo visit and they are " all in normal range " whatever that means. TSH 2.705 Free T4 1.35 Free T3 2.6 OF COURSE, I still feel really crappy. The doctor is giving me two choices. Start T3 therapy, or go see a nuerologist. He is leaning more toward the nuerologist cause he really doesn't believe my muscle weakness is from my thyroid. I personally dont know what is causing it either, I just want to feel better. I haven't been able to make up my mind what to do. Anyone with any thoughts on the subject please enlighten me. The impression I get from the dr is that he thinks it is a nuero-muscular disease causing most of my problems. Carolyn
Guest guest
I had a very weak grip strength until I started on synthroid. Strength came back almost immediately. My endocrin. in Dallas said this IS a symptom. My regular internist never heard of such a thing. Guest guest
This is the usual poor thyroid care. You might want to spend more time and money on docs and tests, or you might want to take more thyroid meds/get T3/find a better doc. Good luck! Guest guest
I am in Dallas and looking for an endo. Would you recommend yours? Could you please send me his/her name/contact? Guest guest
Carolyn, Your doctor is talking out of his rear end, and unfortunately nothing sensible is coming out. Why oh why, does it always come down to us hypo's being 'head' cases all the time? Take the T3, it is a must. It helped my depressed mood and took care of my bloating like a bull frog all the time, tongue, facial features, feet, fingers, chest and upper arms. There is no flipping 'normal' as far as ranges are concerned we are not all biochemically the same. The tests should just be a guide, but doc's treat it like some infallible 'gold standard' by which everyoe is judged irrespective of our individual chemistry. He is wrong about the muscle weakness it is thyroid related as far as I am concerned. You need more T3 to get more into your muscles and tissues so you can stop feeling like a limp wet dishcloth. If you have a wet dishcloth handy, slap that doc round the face once or twice for me!! Your head and brain are fine, its just your internal chemistry letting you down. Guest guest
Thanks and everyone else. You all helped me decide what to do. I am going to call today and tell him I want the T3. Thanks everyone!! Carolyn > > Carolyn, > > Your doctor is talking out of his rear end, and unfortunately nothing > sensible is coming out. Guest guest
Has the doctor considered that you may have fibro myalgia? > > > > Carolyn, > > > > Your doctor is talking out of his rear end, and unfortunately > nothing > > sensible is coming out.
