Guest guest
I have not been able to talk my dr into letting me try Armour<errrrr>!! I am on .1 Levothroid as of yesterday.I was DX with Hashi's in '96.I had been fine taking .075 Synthroid until a few months ago. It takes a little time for the body and meds to get adjusted.Give it some more time.I hope to feel better within about a month.I hope it doesn't take any longer than that. I wish you the best and I hope you feel better soon.I know how you feel.I have been feeling soooo terrible.I haven't been able to think straight and been REALLY moody!I haven't had a period since Mar 8,'01....that's not good when you are TTC Have a wonderful day....and HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all the Mommy's out there:) Jenn A Anybody taking Armour to help with their hypothyroidism? I was recently diagnosed with hypo and my doc put me on 1 grain of Armour. I'm supposed to start taking 2 grains after two weeks. Today is the third day that I've taken it and I feel worse. I'm not sure if it's the meds or something else, but I'm so tired all I want to do is sleep all day. Considering I have a 2 year old and a 5 year old that is simply out of the question. I was just wondering if anyone else is taking Armour and how soon they experienced results if ever. Guest guest
Anybody wanting Armour thyroid can get a prescription from Madhuri Cawley. She is a licensed nurse who mainly deals with fatigue, etc. Her e-mail is madhuri3@.... She used to consult for Women's International Pharmacy, but now she has gone it alone. Tell her Katrina sent you. Katrina.
Guest guest
Hi Amy, I don't know why you feel worse, I have been taking Armour since Nov, 2000 and the moment I started it within 12 hrs I felt better, and continued from there. My suggestion would be to get the book Live Right 4 Your Type, its a blood type diet, and I think here very soon I will be able to go off my Armour. Guest guest
Dear Laurie: Hope you're right!! Armour is still a pharmaceutical "replacement" for your own thyroid hormone. The object of natural therapy is to show people how to bring their own thyroid back on stream. Check out vegsource, then Dr. Klaper, and find out why the blood type diet is just another fad. Guest guest
Hi Earl, Ya know what I don't care what other so called Dr. and people have to say about the eat right diet, today is my 39 th. B-day, and 30 years ago I lost my mother to obesity, massive heart attack and diabetes, so I have spent my who adult life trying to find a way of eating that is healthy and not food group restricted. I am and my family are eating whatever I put in front of them so I feel responsible for any health problems that could accrue, so far the eat right diet helps to give you the tools to learn how to eat REAL FOOD FROM NATURE NOT OVER PROCESSED CRAP. Ps I'm eating mustard greens, parsnips, turnips, swiss chard, and Bok Choy, things I never thought of eating partly because I didn't now how to prepare them in a dish, If its another fad o-well, its making my body feel better, and I already need to cut back on the Armour, I feel due to stronger adrenals ect. sense eating healthier, with eating fermented soy protein, and some meats, veggies, fruits, and grains, very little wheat if any. I was on Dr. Atkins diet last year for 13 months, felt better, due to level blood sugars, but never could lose weight, down a few then up a few, drove me crazy. I'm not losing a lot of weight right now, because I'm eating to many nuts, I'm doing some cleanses and I'm bloating a lot and things should get back to normal in a few. Guest guest
To All: You know this lady's history [Jenn] just goes to indicate that synthetic hormones simply do not do the same job as ones natural hormones. Jenn, to begin with, if you feel that you want to go on Armour, don't "ask" the doctor, tell him/her thats what you want!!! Who pays your bills? I was always taught that when you paid someone...they were your employees!! If you have an employee who is a medically trained person, tell them what you want. But Armour and all the synthetics are just evidence of what I like to call..."pharmaceutical arrogance!!" No one I have come across yet, in thousands of people, have ever needed to have their thyroid hormones "replaced!!" [as long as they had functional glands not mutilated by RAI or surgery]. If a person will do the basic detox program to eliminate the pathogenic causes [viruses, bacteria, candida, flukes, parasites] of auto-immune disorders and repair the gut wall, replace the gut bacteria, maybe do a gall bladder flush to clear liver function, then Thyrodine will restore normal thyroid function...forever, as long as one eats right [not according to the blood type], and avoids drugs and other toxins and includes kelp in their nutrition. So many on this list keep "hoping" they will feel better once their "meds" kick in. Meds are drugs. Drugs and medical interventions are the #1 killer on this planet. We are witnressing the demise of our civilization. Our civilization is destructing because people eat artificial food, sprayed with lethal pesticides, drink water laced with chlorine/fluoride and hundreds of other chemical "purifiers", we use chemicals on our tooth brushes, in our cosmetics, in our houses, we breathe foul air, we go on "the pill" and take antibiotics for the slightest infections, we become overweight because our food has no nutritional value so we have to eat huge quantities just to try to get a few nutrients, and we eat far too many starches which puts yet more weight on, and since none of our food has any organic iodine or minerals in it we develop thyroid disorders, gain more weight, lose our energy, get acne, get stringy hair, and then no periods. We have no periods because ouir bodies are incapable of producing a child so nature shuts off that possibility. So then we go our medically trained advisor and all they have to offer are prescriptions and surgical appointments. Our teeth decay due to excess sugar and no minerals. So we put amalgam [mercury] into our mouths which totally disrupts all its functions including thyroid function....and data suggests that mercury is a major contributor to Alzheimers. Nature has become a vagabond. We live so artificially that our bodies are artificial. And then we put in more artificial drugs into an already artificial body. And then we wonder why we feel terrible all the time. In the Thyroid Regeneration protocol I try desperately to show folks how to detox, how to get the toxins out of the body, restore gut function and then how to very naturally restore normal thyroid function. We even show you how to overcome estrogen dominance and how to balance steroid hormones, restore blood sugar levels and utilize a concentrated food source that has organic and wild crafted sources of solid concentrated food nutrients. This is all about restoring our connection to nature once again. Its about restoring our consciousness about our own bodies. Its about becoming human again. Its about reclaiming our right to have full health, vitality and the excitement of living fully as dedicated stewards of this dying planet. So when you feel washed out and go to see your medical adviser, expect drugs, thats all they know. You may want to look for a naturopath in your area or a biologically-oriented chiropractor/osteopath/PhD/ or you may wish to take responsibility for your own body and health. The net is full of incredible people and data. If you specifically want some good thyroid data, try www.thyrodine.com But above all, rise above mediocrity. Take your health and welfare into your own conscious hands. be your own "doctor." And if you need to consult with a doctor, be he/she a medic, an osteopath, a chiropractor, a naturopath, a PhD, remember that you're paying the bill, they're your employee, treat them as such. Ask questions, every thing you need to know. Ask about side effects. Ask them if they know anything about health. Stand tall and be your own doctor. Stop being a victim. Start being a motivated, dedicated healthy person who cares about their own well being, that of their fellows and of Mother Earth. For if you don't rise above the stigma of being victims and martyrs of being experimented upon, of ignoring the death throes of civilization, of our earth, then who? Guest guest
After reading that last message and the dose the Dr. started her out on, got me to wondering.....I have been taking thyroid meds for almost 8 years. I started out on Armour, then was told by a new Dr. two years later (because my insurance switched) how unreliable the Armour was. Now I know that's just not true. I had been feeling worse than even, my levels were OK (high normal) but I insisted on switching back to Armour, so with hesitation he prescribed a 1/2 grain of Armour once a day with 2 months refills. I was taking .125 of synthroid. This just seems way off to me. I'd also like to add that I have never (as of yet) been to see an Endo...because of insurance reasons also (HMO). I simply can't afford going to see an Endo on my own and paying for more blood tests. What's your opinion? Thanks LinZ _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com >I was recently diagnosed with hypo and my doc put me on 1 grain of Armour. Guest guest
LinZ: Blood tests for thyroid function have never been accurate and are a waste of time and $$. Endo's know only how to prescribe drugs. If you must condition yourself to " meds " . Armour is the best and most useful drug. Its an extract of pig thyroid. If you want to avoid useless blood tests and medical visits and begin to take responsibility for your own health, then access www.thyrodine.com This program has restored thyroid function in literally thousands of people all over the world. Why have you never heard of it??? because the program comes from a small natural therapy clinic with no advertising budget. Guest guest
: There is NO "med" that will "replace" thyroid function. Thyroid function has be restored by nutritional supplements....after the auto-immune factor has been eliminated. There are no magic "meds", there are only biological aids. No one ever asks ...WHY!! Why does a thyroid gland become underactive or overactive [same process just further donw the track of degeneration]. www.thyrodine.com answers these questions. Guest guest
: If people would also go to www.thyrodine.com they would discover that they may not need to see a "doctor" as "doctors" do not know how to accurately assess thyroid function nor treat it. An average person with the data on this web site would know more than most "doctors' about the physiology of thyroid function.
