Do you use the > recipes from the files? ~~~~~~~~~ hi! i don't have children (yet), but so far you sound like you're on the right track with your recipe modifications. i have cooked for numerous children (personal cheffing for families and individuals, especially those on special diets for a variety of reasons). ~~~~~~~~~ pureed foods, light on the spices at first is a good idea. some kids like the taste of a little bit of herbs, garlic, onion, celery etc, and other kids can't take it at all. sometimes it depends on how its cooked and what it's in. for example, one little girl would eat turkey meatloaf that onoins and celery in it, but she wouldn't eat chicken soup if it had celery in it, because she said the flavor was too strong and she didn't like " that green vegetable " in it. > For example I changed the Simplest Meatloaf ever: > Instead of the minced celery and minced onions, I put the onions and > celery in the food processor. Strain it. I mix the paste with the > meat, and use the liquid instead water over the tomato puree. > > I need more ideas. I have trouble too with the spicys. I don't know > which ones are safe to use for him (like thyme..)I'm writing now > down everything I'm giving to him but is difficult to rule out things > > I would love to have more ideas!!! ~~~~~~~if he's not showing symptoms of candida: many kids love plain old baked sweet potatoes. bake a few up at a time, let them cool and scoop out the tender insides - if they are good at holding things on their own, you can let them hold one and squeeze the " filling " up from the shell. ~~~~~~~~pureed vegetables with a little sea salt and good quality butter ~~~~~~~~ " soup chicken " - another family i cooked for had a daughter (she was almost three when i started working with them) who loved boiled chicken. i would make big pots of chicken soup (traditional style, simmering meat on the bones). then, when i removed the meat from the bones, i would save some for her, just plain like that (lightly flavored from some sea salt in the simmering water, she loved it.) ~~~~~~~~~scrambled eggs, or spinach bread style baked egg dishes. ~~~~~~~~~`meats cooked very tender - pot roast with very tender vegetables. > > Another thing Suz: I have added to the spinach bread after 1/2 hour > in the oven a bit tomato paste and water on top, and it was much > yummier! (and cooked for 1 hour instead of 1h1/4, it was not so > dry. Also, I beated the eegs before addding the spinach) I don't > remember who posted this receipe now, but it's wonderful, and so > easy! Even my son can make it!! :-)) ~~~~~~~~ thanks for the notes on the spinach bread, i will add them to the recipe! ~~~~~~~~hope this helps ~ suz
