Just a quick one.. thundering out..

Got to be at hosp at 5:30.. Talked to anesthesiologist at length

on phone today - he recommended SEVERAL changes to primary care

orders.. which are ones that I agreed with and actually wanted

done anyway..

Will be in DAY SURGERY.. then OR, Recovery, and back into

DAY SURGERY.. as soon as I can keep food down, I will be

discharged, if all goes well.

This is saving me being in the hospital tonight.. and may

save me from being there tomorrow night.

He even agreed to the pain medication that I wanted..

He wants me to take MOST of my AM MEDS at home with the

tiniest sip of water that I can take.. (there are certain ones

that we both agreed would be safe and probably wise to skip

in the am, but I will take them as soon as I can keep stuff

down).

(Primary care wanted several IV drugs.. anestheologist DISAGREES)

He will administer one Salmederal (cortisone) dose IV to cover

surgery.

He will closely monitor my breathing and he told me the protocol

that he will follow in the event of any problems.

Will be spinal anesthetic.. premedicated with Versed for the panic

disorder.. Ed will be allowed to stay with me until the Versed

takes effect.

My current medications are either waiting in the pharmacy for

the Day Surgery will call for when I can keep stuff down (many of

them that I brought there on Monday for identification since they

are not on the hospital protocol)

I will contact you somehow when I get home.. may not be until

Thurs..

Love

elaine
