Guest guest
I hear so much info it's mind boggling so please forgive me for asking so many questions I'm just trying to sort it all out still. I've heard over and over my adrenals need support. Well to do that don't I need doc's supervision? If not, how exactly do I do this own my own? Here is the result of my cortisol test: My normal level - 13.6 (Normal range - 6.2 - 19.4) My level when coritsol was added - 31.1 The NP says it is great that is what it is suppose to do if you are normal in this aspect. According to the majority of you all, is this still incorrect? I want to know this before my doc appt b/c if I need to support my adrenals then how am I suppose to express this to the doc if I indeed need a prescription. If I can do this own my own I'm really unsure witch path to take. I'm taking DHEA(25mcg) now, is this enough to support my adrenals? Thanks you! Have a great weekend! -Dana

Guest guest
your number is good here but this is just one time in the day, your cortisol numbers go up and down all day long--that is why salvia is one of the better tests for it---not saying this is not good--the ACTH test that you took shows how your body responds to added injected cortisol--I am assuming here this is what you had done. Also a good test is the 24-hour urine test to see where you are through out the day. It's very complicated testing for adrenals---one of the better tests is just your dhea levels if they are low most likely you also need adrenal glandulars---but here you are taking them so you might be doing just fine---- how are the rest of your tests and symtoms??? that will tell us so much more?? and blood pressure readings and body tempertures!!! Since I've been out of town I am not up to date with everyone's situations. tina > I hear so much info it's mind boggling so please forgive me for asking so > many questions I'm just trying to sort it all out still. > I've heard over and over my adrenals need support. Guest guest
I'm really upset with these doctors! You would just think you would get the best tests that are available. We have such a major problem with our healthcare system. It's ridicules! I don't think they want us to get better at all! They just want us to keep coming in for every little problem this disease causes so they can keep padding their pockets at out expense!!! I didn't mean to just blow up at your post it just happened to come out of me now. It's all the info I've been taking in in the last few weeks. It's such a blow of reality to me!! Anyways, speaking of reality, thanks for your reply. My blood pressure is normal but my basal temps average about 96. My symptoms are extreme fatigue, aches & pains, heart palps on occasion and a lot more but these are the main ones. -Dana -- Re: Does this mean I need adrenal support? your number is good here but this is just one time in the day, your cortisol numbers go up and down all day long--that is why salvia is one of the better tests for it---not saying this is not good--the ACTH test that you took shows how your body responds to added injected cortisol--I am assuming here this is what you had done. Guest guest
I think it's rare to find a doctor that knows what he is doing in regard to adrenal, thyroid and all their interactions and problems. And one that gives a dam how you really feel. Since your blood pressure is normal that is a good sign, most people with adreanl fatigue have very low BP--I'll send you the matrix of check lists this will help you decide where you are. Many thyroid patients also have adrenal fatigue--the adrenals have to work with the thyroid meds so they will falter if you are taking too little or too much hormone.--Like goldlocks it has to be just right. And that is no easy task. Your low temp here tells us you are not getting enough hormone---96 is way too low--take it upon raising and though out the day, keep a journal that is the only way to keep track of your results. Most people have low temps upon raising this is a indication of thyroid problems. Dr. is the one doctor who discovered this. I'll send you the matrix now that will make you feel better---tina -- In hypothyroidism , " Sales@b... " <BHD@H...> wrote: > I'm really upset with these doctors!
