Hi Bee & Pals, Thanks for letting me join. I found your site from

one of the other sites.

I'm Janice from Ohio who has candida yeast in me. I went to a

naturopath the middle of Oct. and she looked into the iris of my

eyes and said I had yeast in me. Then in Oct. I started having

redness in my right fingernails and yellow nail fungus. I did have

fake nails from the end of April thru July but didn't have any

trouble till Oct. I went to my internal doctor sometime in Dec. and

he put me on lamisil for 4 days and then went to a derma (skin

doctor) and he said the internal doctor had no business putting me

on lamisil. I asked if I could go off lamisil and he said yes and

now the skin doctor had me on Diflican of 150 mg.but a one time

pill. Guess it's real powerful and will last in my system. That

was on Dec.18.

My right finger nails are getting better. It was mostly my right

thumb and right ring finger. The skin doctor put me on 2 kinds of

creams of one in the morning and one at night time. The night time

is more stronger and I'm only doing that on Mon.Wed. and Friday. I

went back to skin doctor the 2nd time and he said my nails look

better and they are not as red. That's when he gave me the anti-

fungal yeast pill of Diflican. Oh, the first visit the nurse told

me to get biotin. I take that twice a day.

Now I go back this Tues. Jan.4. I'm still itching down there in the

vaginal area. I did have a side effect on the Diflican. I had the

yellow skin but not yellow eyes. It was also from eating 12 carrots

a day. I would have a carrot smoothie in the morning with 6 large

carrots and then have another 6 large carrots for some vegetable

juice. Now I use more celery and ginger and I will have to buy some

raw certified organic garlic and put that garlic in there, too.

I will ask the skin doctor if he can put me on nystatin instead.

Oh, I take a yeast detox supplement from the naturopath of Nature's

Sunshine and also a Pro Biotic of 2 of them in the morning and 2 at

night time on an empty stomach. I also bought olive leaf extract

and do that 3 times a day but that's expensive. I also bought

grapefruit seed complex and do that only once a day.

I was a big fruit eater of 5 to 6 fruits a day and now I only do 1

fruit a day. Today I had frozen cranberries of a 3/4 of a cup and

that's 12 grams of sugar. Also had the vegetable juice with the 1

large carrot and that's 5 grams of sugar.

I also drink Pau d'arco tea but only one cup a day. How much of

that should I drink? I'm trying to drink 10 glasses of water a

day. Almost done with my 10 glasses.

I will be going to another naturopath next Friday because she's at

this Center for Hope and Healing and there's an MD who's the

director and they can run tests on me since I never had any tests

done of this candida. I was thinking about the Comprehensive Tool

Test or should they run a test to see if I have candida in my

blood? I'm so mixed up.

I did have the ELISA blood test in Jan.with this other doctor and

found out my allergic/reactive foods. My allergic foods were

almond, banana,barley,clam, egg, oyster,rye, scallops,soybean, wheat

and brewers yeast. I eliminated these foods and now I'm off my

Advair disc and Flonase spray. I had asthma for 2 years and was on

the medicine for 2 years. I know allergies are related to candida.

I also know when I would get my thyroid testing done with my

internal doctor it would come out normal but I'm going to this new

doctor next Fri.and they can run a test on me to see if I have

hypothryoid. When I went to this other doctor he had me take my

temperature in the morning and it was always low and so I know I

have hypothryoid.

Well, sorry this is so long.

Have a good evening everybody!

Hugs, Janice from Ohio

Difulcan is a powerful anticandida drug, but it is hard on the

liver. Most often one dose will not be enough to cure candida, so it

is better to switch to a safer antifungal, i.e. raw garlic, Nystatin,

Oregano Oil, etc. which can be taken over a longer period of time.

More than likely the cream has cortisone in it which is not good to

have. You can apply coconut oil which is safer and more effective in

the long run without the side effects.

Biotin is a B vitamin, and it is very good to take, but you do need

to take the other B vitamins so they don't get out of balance because

taking one without the others depletes the others, if that makes

sense. Take a good Vitamin B Complex, 100 mgs. per day in addition

to the Biotin - one that contains no yeast, sugar, soy, wheat, or

dairy.

There is an excellent article in our files (on the left side-bar)

entitled " How to Treat Vaginal Yeast Infection " .

Yellow skin could also be caused by the beta carotene in the

carrots. Some people have difficulty converting beta carotene to

Vitamin A (a form of Vit. A that the body can use). Carrots are not

advisable when you have candida because it is a vegetable that is

high in sugar content.

Good idea!

You are doing a lot. But go easy on taking so many products - " more

is not better. " Start each one, one at a time, so you can see how

you react to each of them. Some may not agree with you.

It is best to go off all fruit as soon as you can. But if you do

have fruit ensure you have plenty of goods fats too.

Pau D'Arco tea is good - it will also compliment your water intake,

but you can have too much water as well. I know the recommendation

is to have 8 or more glasses of water a day, but you can go overboard

on that and throw off your electrolyte balance of salt and

potassium. If you drink that much water please ensure you add a good

ocean sea salt to it, i.e. Celtic sea salt, which has over 80

minerals.

No tests can be conclusive about having candida overgrowth. The best

test is the questionnaire - the URL for it is in my main article in

the files (left side-bar) " How to Successfully Overcome Candida " .

Diet is the most important aspect of getting well. If you read my

article you will see how important " good " animal meats and " good "

saturated fats are, with low carbs. Certified organic free-range

eggs are an excellent source of many nutrients, and are so easy to

make.

Being hypothyroid is common when you have candida because the candida

toxins make all of the body's cells go rigid, even white and red

blood cells. This means the hormones your thyroid is making cannot

get into the cells where it is needed, even though your thyroid may

be working fine. I went that route when I had candida back in the

mid 1980s and due to messing around with thyroid hormones, iodine,

etc. my thryoid went berserk with Grave's disease and I had to have

it zapped with radiation. I believe it was because of too much

tampering with nature. When you overcome the candida all the cells

will normalize again so the hormones can get into them where they

belong. In other words, you are hypothyroid because of candida, not

because of the thyroid.

I hope this helps you Janice from Ohio. Again, welcome!

Luv,
