I am wondering if this is because of my thyroid or what. I have gone to the doctor and they think thyroid or anxiety. Just wondering. Thanks! Guest guest Posted September 24, 2004 Report Share Posted September 24, 2004 I have not had that, but my doctor keeps asking me if I do - she says it has to do with low calcium levels. I also had a total thyroidectomy,so that can affect calcium. Check your most recent blood work and see how the calcium is. Guest guest Posted September 24, 2004 Report Share Posted September 24, 2004 Yup, I have the same-- also plantar fasceitis (feels like heel pain). This particular symptom has phases when it's particularly bad, but mine has been relatively quiescent lately. I have trained myself to sleep with my arms straight at my side, as otherwise I will wake up with pain and lack of feeling from the elbow down. I was originally told I had " fibromyalgia " and both carpal tunnel and plantar fasceitis are signs of that. Oh and also part of the same syndrome is the numbness and blue fingers in winter cold-- raynaud's I think it's called. The rheumatologist who told me I had Fibro, told me not to have the surgery done for carpal tunneel, as it would only come back again anyway.
