Guest guest
The stevia that was banned in Europe was the refined one, which is white, not the green kind right from the plant. Bee
Guest guest
What about liquid Stevia. I have a bottle of SweetLeaf brand clear drops that says it is the extract of pure stevia leaves and purified water. No alcohol added. Would that be classified as refined as is the white powder? > > The stevia that was banned in Europe was the refined one, which is > white, not the green kind right from the plant. > > Bee
Guest guest
I did a search on stevia and ran across the Body Ecology site which I've heard of before. Donna Korn or something like that. They give the history of stevia and talk about the different forms. I saw nothing wrong with the white powder (which is what I use). It's a matter of how sweet you like it. To get the powder they dry the leaves and turn them to powder. At least that's what this site said. My bottle says something like 98% steviosides or something like that. I didn't go with the green stuff in the beginning because of the hint of licorice which I don't like. Maybe Bee has more info on the refining process.
