Dear Micky,

Wecome to our group. Threelac is not recommended for candida because

firstly the manufacturer claims you can take it without doing the diet,

which is totally false and misleading, and secondly because it contains

castor oil, which is a purgative (causes evacuation of the bowels),

which would deplete water and nutrients in the bowels.

The best way to stick to the candida diet I recommend to get plenty of

good fats, i.e. coconut oil, which provides the very best source of

energy for the body so you will feel more satiated and won't crave

sugars and carbs as much. Also eat good animal meats or eggs with

every meal, ensuring you are obtaining enough. The ideal proportions

are according to the " Optimal Diet " at: homodiet.netfirms.com

calculates the amount of grams to consume according to your height. My

height is 5'6 " so I require 68 grams of protein; 170 - 238 grams of

good fats, and 54 grams of carbs. To figure out what you require go to

the Optimal Diet site your own intake go to: www.fitday.com When you

go to reports on the left menu it will calculate the amount of each

food group for you.

Proteins and good fats are much easier for a body to digest than carbs

and they are most important for health. In fact a human body can live

well on only proteins and fats, but not on carbs (carbs are any foods

that are not fats and proteins, including vegetables).

One way to get optimal nutrition is to make the egg drink in our recipe

files; I use 3 large eggs with 1 tsp. cinnamon, 2 tbl. coconut oil,

some stevia (allowed sweetener) and boiling water in a delicious drink.

It can help you curb cravings for carbs, and it is so easy to make.

Be sure to thoroughly read my article for the diet, which is very

different than others recommended, and tweak yours as required. I wish

you the very best. Please do keep in touch and let us know how you are

doing. We are here to help and support you.

This may be a simplistic answer but I am able to stay on it pretty well because

I feel so much better. I also suffered from severe asthma and was even rushed to

the hospital and on a ventilator for a while. Since I have been on the diet I

have been able to eliminate two medications I was on and the asthma is no longer

controlling my life. That has helped me stay on the diet...that is a great

reward to me.

-------------- Original message --------------

Is your asthma caused by mold?

A really great book is Asthma Survival :The Holistic Medical Treatment Program

for Asthma. by Ivker D.O. and Todd N.D.

It has a chapter in the book about candida over growth and its affect on asthma.

I feel so much better being on an anti-candida diet and adding magnesium has

significantly helped. I have only used my inhaler twice in the last 2 and half

months and that is a big miracle.
