Prozac and Candida?, Pt. 2

If it helps, I don't have any rashes or flaking skin. I don't know

if there's a medical 'test' to see if I have candida (or don't). No

idea why the Primal Defense hasn't worked by now.

The Primal Defense is expensive ($45 for 2 wk supply). It's hard to

reach the manufacturer, and they say, " Talk to your doctor. " I can't

recommend them for that reason alone.

FYI.

Dear Glenn,

The best candida test is Dr. Crook's questionnaire:

http://www.mall-net.com/cgibin/quiz4.cgi?quiz=crook.qa

The Grand Total Score will help you determine whether your health

problems are yeast-connected. Scores for woman will typically run

higher.

Yeast-connected health problems are almost certainly present in woman

with scores over 180, and in men with scores over 140.

Yeast-connected health problems are probably present in woman with

scores over 120, and in men with scores over 90.

Primal Defense isn't for everyone, and is a highly marketed product

which contains a variety of ingredients. I recommend simple " tried &

true " products that have been helping people overcome candida for

over 20 years:

Antifungals recommended: garlic (Kyolic pills or certified organic

raw garlic), oregano oil, grapefruit seed extract, clove oil and

nystatin. I had great success with curing my candida 18 years ago by

taking nystatin for the entire 2-1/2 years I was on the program.

Probiotics recommended: Cal-dolphilus (not dereived from dairy), or

Cabbage Rejuvelac (recipe in my article in the files in the left side-

bar).

Like Zack said, the diet is the most important aspect of curing

candida, and is a good starting point. Getting the diet " down pat "

can set up your body so it can benefit more from antifungals and

probiotics, with less symptoms caused by killing off the candida.

Changing too many things at once can be overwhelming for your body

and for you. Taking one step at a time is important for your success

and allows your body time to adjust and do its job of healing.

It will take about one month of " natural healing " for every year

you've experienced illnesses and symptoms. Natural healing can start

once your body gets what it needs to do its job, mainly the diet.

Note: Even if you do not have candida overgrowth the diet is good

for anyone's life-long health (with some modifications of course).

After you read my article you will understand why this is true.

I hope that helps you Glenn. Please keep us posted on your progress

and the steps you are taking, and of course get back to us with any

questions or difficulties you have.

I wish you the very best,

Bee

Bee and Everyone,

Thanks for your kind articles. I saw your " cabbage recipe, " Bee, and

seriously thought of making it for a month. Maybe I'm lazy, but I

spent $20 and bought refrigerated probiotics instead. I'll check the

files and take the test as you suggest. I ate quinoa (sp) instead of

potatos, and I became very tired. Taking Candida cleanses (to kill

it) knock me out, so I'm not sure if I have candida or not...or what

to take or do. No one really knows what to tell me, and trying to

find someone costs me oodles of money ($2,000 and counting!) with no

payoff ( " answer " ). So as you can imagine, I'm climbing the walls.

I'd be more than annoyed if the cabbage recipe didn't work, but might

try it. Might be easier than eliminating bread and starch.

I will keep everyone posted. Thanks for everyone's help.

Glenn
