Hello and Jerry:

Yes I take Thyrolar and it does work. I'm taking a combination of

Synthroid in the morning and Thyrolar-1 at night. I have definitely felt

an improvement since taking this combination. This combination has also

assisted in helping me lose weight. Ann

Ann, I didn't know you needed a combination. Wonder if that is

standard? I am glad you are feeling better and it helps with losing

weight!!! ;)

Happy Springtime!!

I went to a specialist (endo) and he prescribed the combination of these

two prescriptions because Thyrolar has T3/T4 and Synthroid contains only

T4. Because of my symptoms (fibromyalgia and hypothryoidism), he wanted to

add T3 to the treatment but he felt I needed more of an increase of T4.

I have had hypothyroidism for 30 years. I had basically been on the same

dosage of Synthroid for most of those 30 years. Recently I had started to

experience all the classic symptoms of hypothyroidism (dry hair, weight

gain even though I ate small meals, feeling cold at all times, tiredness,

etc. plus body aches and pains). I went in for a blood test and he found

that my TSH levels were high. This treatment has helped get my TSH levels

back in the normal range plus has helped in allveviating some of the muscle

aches because of the T3.

I hope this information helps. Thanks, Ann

and Jerry, I suggest that you and everyone else use the thyroid forum on delphi, in addition to this list. There is a lot of traffic on that forum and I've found it extremely valuable.

Go to http://www.delphi.com and make yourself a user profile. Then type "thyroid" in the search engine and the About.com thyroid forum will come up. That's the one you want.Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.

Jeff,

I was on Thyrolar 1 for a few months. Had my blood tested again, (don't

tell Earl, lol) and the TSH decreased but the T3 didn't change much.

Dr. said that if you take Thyrolar, you can't ADJUST the TSH or T3 bec.

it is all in one drug. He put me on Synthroid/cytomel so he can

regulate the levels better. I haven't been on it very long, so don't

have any results on how I feel. My hypothyroid wasn't really out of the

normal range to begin with, but borderline normal. Hope that helped. PS

I THINK I had more energy on the thyrolar, but to soon to tell.

Take care.

Love and Peace,

Reneé and Jerry

You're truly amazing.

How long are you going to paralyze your body with drugs??

Synthetics are simply contraindicated for any thyroid disorder.

When are you going to really investigate how to bring your thyroid back to

normal physiological function??

Jeff:

Do you really think combining any amount of drugs will ever restore thyroid function?

Nature never intended for drugs to "replace" a normal function which can be re-established by simply assessing the reason for the disorder and then supplying the raw materials the thyroid needs.

"Drug of choice" seems to be such a catch phrase in a society in which synthetic materials are accepted as a substitute for effective, natural supplements.

I would be interested to hear opinions of Thyrolar from anyone who is currently on or has been on Thyrolar. Thyrolar seems to be the drug of choice for patients coming off of Armour due to consistency problems. Also has any one gone from Thyrolar to a combination of Synthroid/Cytomel? I have been reading that the ratio of T4-T3 leans too much on the T3 side with Thyrolar and Armour.

Earl,

How come you just pick on me? Many of us are on drugs for our thyroid

and other problems. Have a nice evening.

Take care.

Earl is in New Zealand, so the time difference is quite a bit. Probably

this evening you will get your reply from him if you live in the US.

Take care.

Peaches:

NO!

If you've had RAI, then your thyroid gland has been destroyed.

Your best bet is Armour....as the least hassly replacement.

Folks....be really attentive here.

If you are threatened with RAI [radio active iodine] or surgery to your

thyroid, run!

No one needs either RAI nor surgery.

An overactive thyroid is simply the effect of an auto-immune disorder.

To eliminate the thyroid disorder it is essential to get rid of the

offending pathogen [herpes, candida, EBV, CMV, E.coli, or have the mercury

removed from teeth.

If you have amalgam fillings and can't afford removal, then get the herbal

cilantro, from: Sacred medicine Sanctuary...www.kitchendoctor.com

You'll need to take the cilantro for as long as you have mercury and for 6

months after removal.

The pathogens can be eliminated readily with the Hormone Regeneration

protocol at www.thyrodine.com

Neither drugs nor RAI/surgery will actually restore a thyroid to normal

function ever again.

The Hormone Regeneration protocol does restore thyroid to full physiological

function forever, if you follow sane nutritional/health practices.

Sue:

Whats does I'm ON Eltroxin mean???

There you are suggests that you've accepted some medically trained person's

only way of addressing a thyroid problem....with drugs!

Have you seen a naturopath or any other alternative doctor???

Eltroxin is a drug. Drugs destroy health.

Drugs eventually cripple thyroid function.

Wake up!
