Guest guest
I'll try to answer; see responses within the message. BTW, I have Dr. Hertoghe's book and it seems to have a wealth of information; thanks for recommending it. One thing confusing is that my impression is that you seem to have a great disdain for tests, while Dr. Hertoghe makes dozens or hundreds of positive references to using tests. I thought you respected him a great deal... Message: 8 Date: Fri, 19 Aug 2005 00:47:14 -0400 From: " Gracia " <circe@...> Subject: Re: Why not increase the dosage? - Tina > ????? I can't really figure out what you are saying!! Don't feel like the Alone Stranger; I obviously don't understand you either... > You think we take " excess " amounts of hormones for what purpose???? I really don't know if you take excess amounts of hormones; so I obviously would not have an opinion as to why you do something I don't know that you do. > B/C we are naughty silly little patients? LOL I've seen no evidence that you are naughty and have made no statements that would tend to indicate such. I think it's silly to suggest that whatever works for you will work for everyone else; we're all individuals. I think it's foolish to take a considerable quantity of medications without reasonable evidence that the same are indicated; but what I consider reasonable evidence and what you consider reasonable evidence are two different things. I think it's foolish to disdain the vast store of knowledge so painfully gained by science and the medical profession. I think it's foolish to say, " all doctors are stupid [effectively] " ; when any objective evaluation would probably reveal that they compare most favorably with anyone making such a statement. I think it's most foolish to prescribe for someone based upon a message or three on this [or any other] list; and even more foolish to follow such a prescription. > No I don't think it's well established that > you will " shut down " your thyroid gland, although most people have > hashimotos which is doing the job pretty well enough. If you take " excess " If you are unaware that excess supplements can harm or shut down your thyroid or adrenals then you are sadly uninformed. > If you take " excess " amounts of hormones you will feel bad however. Actually, in some cases you might feel better; at least for a short time IMHO. But in fact you very well could suffer severe repercussions. > I am very glad you are sympatico with Chuck.
