Guest guest
hi Kat, I posted some information to Keisha last night about insulin resistance. Here's the link to my post. You can check it out and see if it sounds like you. hypothyroidism/message/12133 did you have some abnormal labs as far as insulin or glucose levels? if you have the results, do you mind to post them? What symptoms are you having? i am on Armour also...just switched almost 6 weeks ago. I was taking levoxyl and cytomel. i don't know about the adrenal support thing. i wonder about the same for myself, but i'm not the kind of person who feels comfortable taking anything without talking to my doctor. i'm hoping to get some adrenal tests done in the next few weeks. have you had any adrenal tests done to check your hormone levels? take care. Guest guest
Shelia, I have not had any insulin testing at all. The endo just ordered it and I am suppose to have it in six weeks along with my thyroid labs. I am not having symptoms that I know of except for hypo symptoms. I will have to do some reading as far as symptoms regarding blood sugar levels. I have no idea! How are you feeling on Armour. It sounds as if we switched about teh same time. What is your dosage? No, I have not had any adrenal testing...from what I am reading tho, taking Isocort can not really have any negative affects....someone correct me if I am wrong. It can only help correct? Anyway, thanks for the link....I will pull it up. Guest guest
Hi Kat, Yeah, Armour has made a big difference; however, it hasn't seemed to help me with the brain fog and memory problems. I'm hoping an increase will do the trick though. My motivation seems to have increased as well. Even while starting back to school, I have managed to learn some new software (at least the basics of it) so I can do some graphic art, as well as turn my photography into abstrast art. I had been wanting to do that for a long time but just never had enough nerves to sit down and actually try it. This past though, faced with tremendous stress, I just had to have a creative outlet to deal with a lot of emotions, so I guess that was the impetus. Last night my husband installed a new software for me (again for doing my abstract art), and he and I sat down and figured it out together. I had fun playing with it. I'm going to take what I did in one software, and then add a bunch of layers in another. I was going to do it last night, but I just wanted to veg out. Glad to hear your motivation is increasing. Hopefully soon it'll happen for you. You'll be motivated and you'll have enough momemtum to carry you through to the next level of actually doing whatever it is you want to do. maybe the increase in medication will help. take care, sheila katmidg <kattmid@...> wrote: It sounds as if Armour has made a huge difference for you in a short amount of time...that is great! AS far as the changes I have seen....very little. I started on one grain of Armour, my doc's nurse called about two weeks later and asked if I was feeling any better, and I told her not at all. So she called back and said to increase 3/4 grain. She said to take 45 mg in the morning and 60 at night. I thought that was odd, but she said that was right. So about a week after that I started feeling some energy! I thought this stuff is really gonna work. However when I called to get the prescription of 1 3/4 grains filled, the doc called me back and said that he did not increse that much that he only increased in 1/4 grain. I argued with him, he kept saying that I could not increase that much...so I finally agreed to drop back down. Hypo symptoms returned big time! So...when I went back, (numbers were in my favor) and I told him I felt worse. So he increased it back to 1 3/4 grains. That was only Friday....so no change yet really. But I have noticed that my motivation has increased. Just seeing things I want to do, not actually getting them done though! When I was on the higher dose briefly, I was wanting to be outside with the kids, pushing them in the swings etc....I want so much to feel better for them too ya know? I want them to have memories of a fun mom, not one who felt like crap all of the time. I do play with them, but not like I played with my older one when he was younger. I also work out of our home....I am an adoptions social worker and contract with two private agencies and do homestudies for people wanting to adopt. I need my energy...I need the clarity of my brain! AS for the ice, snow or whatever, I live on the south eastern coast near Wilmington, NC. All we got was a 1/4 inch of ice. So schools are closed and we won't be going anywhere today. We don't get alot of snow or ice here so when it comes it shuts down everything! I would love to see a good snow! Take care, Kat > > > Hi Kat & welcome! do you have symptoms of insulin resistance? > > > > > > i was told if you have a problem in the endocrine system, usually > > the other parts of the endocrine system are affected as well. > > > > > > that's definitely the case with me. i'm borderline > > diabetic...trying to keep it at bay. > > > > > > Take care and keep in touch, sheila > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
