Just " got through it " a month ago - it took at least 4-6 weeks for the TOTAL withdrawel symptoms to leave - and I weaned myself off soooooooo slowly. When I finally stopped taking it , WHEW. That week or 2 was REALLY bad. ;o) (now i am looking at adrenals and thyroid and ferritin deficiency as well as low progesterone as depression culprits) Good luck! karen Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I suffered for 14 yrs because no one told me. They are making billions of people not spreading the truth! So what have you found out about adrenals, etc? I have only found that low T3 causes depression. Once I started taking medication for low thyroid function, my symptoms cleared within a few days. High levels of progesterone can also cause depressive, excessively sleepy symptoms... This happens a lot with estrogen dominance. I don't believe that antidepressants should ever be offered FIRST without looking for another reason for depression, as it is a symptom of many other illnesses. Unfortunately some of the damage I have as a result of the Paxil is still with me...I used to think it would go away over time, but it's been six years now. These drugs are definately NOT as safe as the manufacturers would like us to believe. It scares me to think how quickly they are handed out now...even to children!
