Guest guest
I feel better on Isocort. But...I'm sure it is the same story as a lot of other supplement advice you see on hypothyroid lists. IF you have a deficiency and need the supplement, it will make you feel better. If you don't have a deficiency, you will feel no effect, or, worse, have too much and give yourself more problems. Are they natural stimulant type supplements such as ginseng? With thyroid meds it's easy. Too much or if you don't need them, you will be miserable. Has anyone felt worse taking them? Just curious, Sherry
Guest guest
I felt much better on cortef, but it had to be the right dose. 15mg was too little (5mg, 3X a day). 20 mg (5mg 4X a day) was just right. Guest guest
I've heard of people not feeling any difference at all - I think that would be the symptom of not needing them in the first place. Guest guest
Thank you, this does answer my question. I had again gotten replies about the wonders of these supplements, thank you all! But wanted some baseline as to how to tell if you need them. I'm not big on taking supplements or medicines that aren't essential. And for the record, I do rank the thyroid medication as essential So if I truly needed this and could tell that, I would rank it up there as well. Guest guest
I'd say one month is long enough. If nothing happens after one month, take half the dosage for a week and stop; I do that with ALL supplements. Check to see if they work or not. All but vitamins and minerals, I mean, cause you can't really feel your B12 working, you know. ;-) Jan Sherry wrote: >Thank you, this does answer my question.
