I have sleep apnea and use a cpap machine with a humidifier. This means I

have a mask over my nose and mouth and plastic hoses that attach to the cpap

machine and to a tiny humidifier thing (a plastic container filled with

distilled water).

Could there be mold in there? Could this be aggravating my chronic

sinusitus?

I clean all the apparatus with apple cider vinegar, but not every night.

Should I?

Thanks!!!

Ann

Ann,

I, too, use a CPAP machine with a humidifier. If you keep you system

closed...that is cap off your hose going to the mask each day (I use a

baggie and rubber band)...you only need to clean the humidifier container

and hoses every 3 or 4 days when you need to add distilled water to the

container.

You do however need to wash your mask daily. I use a simple castille soap

and water solution, rinse well and wipe dry with a soft cloth.

Since being on Bee's program, my sinusitis is virtually non-existent; and my

apnea symptoms have improved as well. I can actually take a short nap

without my machine now...something I could not begin to think about doing

five months ago.

Hi Sue!

My sinusitis started getting better within a week...but I am an " all or

nothing " type person and jumped into this program pretty much full force.

With the exception of taking a few days to wean myself off of caffeinated

coffee, I started the actual diet (including 5-6 TBS coconut oil and 5

cloves raw garlic daily) day one. Also added all the supplements right

away.

Then about a week into the program I began doing the garlic tea nasal washes

and drinking clove tea. Two days later I had no sinus problems at all. A

couple of times since I felt I was getting stuffy or sniffly and did a nasal

wash and drank a cup of tea and was clear again.

As for the sleep apnea clearing...I have been on program for almost 5 months

and noticed just the past two weeks I am doing much better and feel

comfortable napping sans machine. I will discuss this with my doctor when I

see her the end of next week. She may order another sleep study (we haven't

done one for 3 years) or want to wait until I lose a bit more weight as I'm

sure that is contributing to improvement as well.
