I am going to hold off on this til I see dr kuri again in January,

endoscope

Dear , I just had an endoscope to check for erosion, I have a infected

port and the

doctor (surgeon) would not see me until I had this done. I have had it done

3 times before, and

it is allot better than it was. I do not have any erosion, I do have

ulcers, is why I have had it

done before. Go to a gastroenterologist, I used Dr. Karimi as she was my

doctor all ready

(liver problems) she knows all about the band and is a cross from Evergreen

Hospital, they

have a new facility to do this. Her address is 12911 120th Ave N.E.

425/899-2211. You will need

a driver to deliver you and take you home, I recovered very quickly with a

cup of coffee.

They use a twilight drug so you are not very deep and can respond to request

from the

staff to move or what ever. She can use ulcers as an excuse to check things

out. I found

out some interesting stuff about my ulcer problems, nothing serious. I can

drive you if

you would like as I'm unemployed and have allot of time, and I'm a good

driver. It never

hurts to check this stuff out if it would make you feel better. I would be

very surprised

if any thing was amiss. ine T. call me if you need more information

I've also been unconscious for all of my endoscopic procedures, and was horrified to learn that some members here had to be awake for them! They give me Versed, and I'm out before they start and I'm in the recovery room when it's over. (exception -- for Witzel dilations, I always wake up in the middle, but they put me right out again and I only remember that I woke up and went back to sleep.) I don't even have a sore throat or any symptoms at all afterwards in most cases (except after a dilation.)

Endoscopy was a piece of cake for me. Like Joan says, ask the doc beforehand to make sure he's going to put you out for the scoping, and make sure you've got someone there to drive you home, as you won't be allowed to drive until the next day.

Let us know how you do!Debbi in Michigan

,

I had a endoscope procedure a year ago. I was given an intravenous injection of Dormicum, a potent sedative. I was absolutely fast asleep for the whole procedure and when I woke up wondered when they were going to get on a do it!. I knew absolutely nothing about it. I really feel it is barbaric in this day and age to still use the old techniques while the person is only slightly sedated. Please ask for Dormicum - discuss it with your doctor before hand.

Good luck,

Joan

about verset:

I was told after my surgery that verset totally takes away your

short term memory. It even wipes out memory from slightly before they

inject you. No wonder I don't even remember lying down on the table!

Love that stuff! You wake up so clear headed, too. Pretty amazing

drug. I don't need to remember seeing the garden hose, lol. Just

hearing about it is enough. I have never even had a sore throat after

being scoped OR my surgery! Incredible. They must really lubricate

it, don't you think?

I woke up in the middle of my endoscopy and I remember that I was gagging and I heard my Dr.say that they were almost finished. This only lasted a

few seconds and then I was out again. When I was in recovery, the nurses kept

trying to wake me up but I just wanted to sleep. My doctor said I wouldn’t

remember anything that he said, but I actually remember quite well. He told me

that I required a lot of medication to keep me under sedation and that I would

be very sleepy for the rest of the day…which I was.

From what I remember from the few brief

moments that I woke up, I agree with Debbi, I couldn’t

imagine going through this procedure awake.

I had one a few years ago. I was awake but drugged. I don't remember any

pain or great discomfort and I was not at all scared of the procedure. I

found it interesting and actually enjoyed seeing my innards on the monitor.

The " hose " was about as big around as my little finger.

A screen handle and a bit screen persona. It is not-an, notan ostrich. This

persona is a reformed ostrich, or maybe an ostrich in denial. I also enjoy

the mostly irrelevant play on the Japanese term popularized in art, which

refers to a concept of balance in black and white, or positive and

negative, or foreground and background. Sometimes you have to read between

the lines. Or as an ostrich would say, the ground that forms the hole and

the space it contains are equally important.

Here in Phoenix I have a farmer tan kind of thing going. We have so much

beach we can't find the water. :-) Actually, I am told that AZ has the

highest per capita boat ownership of any state. When it gets above 115

degrees you start to feel this irresistible urge to find a body of water.

I think the drugs I was given were a combination of valium and something

after having a manometry test, with no drugs, that the drugs stopped the

gag reflex. Sometimes saliva would collect and rattle around while I

(deglycyrrhizinated licorice). Even though it contains bentonite &

DGL that I do not recommend for candida, it may be important for you

to take because the ulcer will greatly interfere with your

digestion. I caution you to start with small doses - I had to start

with a pinch and gradually increase it. It took me over a month to

get up to 2 capsules daily.

bee,

I wrote you a personal e-mail about 1 weeek ago, did you receive it? I

sometimes wonder about where this mail ends up.

My question is this...while having the scope done they were not able to keep

my heart rate down, i attributed it to anxiety but when i woke up it was 99 and

continued to go up until they said, we are letting you go as you are getting

more and more anxious as we keep talking about it. How prevelent is your heart

rate connected to this whole yeast thing? I know its symptom, and i did a

whole workup with the cardio dr, so im lost as to what to do next. should i dr

hop or i in my heart believe its related to foods i am eating. I was doing well

on this diet until my stomach began to bother me intensly so i began eating

canned soups with noodles which i know is a no no and i had toast and crackers

the past week. Im confused as to what to eat, should i avoild seeds in foods

like my vegs, althugh its not allowed on our diet should i have any fruit.

Should my diet b e any different than anyones elses on this p rogram. All i do

know is that the kraut burns to eat but the

eggs are ok. can i live on eggs (yuck) but it fills me up.

Please help me figure this thing out. I have read a lot of your files on

digestion, but is it any different for me at this point because my stomach is

very very tender. My tongue is thick again probably from the starchey foods i

ate for the past week. I am dedicated to tdoing this right and want to begin

again now but im confused.

Sorry this is so long. I would send it to you personally but i dont know

where it will end up.

thanx

bee,

how long do we need to stay restircted on these foods? When is it possible to

add like a baked potato back into the diet? I did so well with plain potato's

in my previous diet and i guess i am trying to find some comfort foods that will

help me feel full again. Part of my stomach issues are that i dont feel full

and have hunger pains a lot which i know could be my ulcer also. Its a nawing

hunger feeling that is so upsetting to my stomach.

My kraut is unpasturized and burns to eat it with meat or alone. 2 weeks ago i

was eating it by the tablespoons and today or the past few days i cant touch it.

Is that all the ulcer or should i just fight t hrough it. I cant ask my dr that

questions because he looked at me as if i had 3 heads when i told him it burns

to eat it. He said...well then dont eat it...He said eat anything that does not

upset your stomach ...

thanks

Hello Sue,

Have you tried the raw egg drink? I know you said you're tired of

eggs, but this tastes different. For me that is a comfort food,

especially with adding cinnamon, and blending it a little longer you

can make it nice and frothy. You can also add anything else you

like like vanilla, nutmeg, anise.

It doesn't make me feel full, but it helps so I when I do eat I don't

need as much.

Hi !

I'm not Bee and I'm not a doctor but I do know about ulcers. That gnawing

feeling is your ulcer acting up.

I'm willing to bet if you make yourself a small portion of the Raw Egg Drink

(like one egg, 2tsp Co, 2tsp butter...or even all butter with 6-8 ounces of

boiling water) and sip it slowly, that gnawing feeling will go away.

The problem with the sauerkraut for right this minute might be that your

ulcer is too irritated so anything acid will hurt. Try the egg drink for a

couple weeks then slowly add the kraut back into your diet.

Just my 2 cents worth.
