Guest guest
Hi Phil, Welcome to our friendly helpful group. You've come to the right place to get help for candida. Phil wrote: >... whats the med to get over the counter to help with candida My main article " How to Successfully Overcome Candida " outlines the steps in overcoming candida, starting with the diet and some standard supplements to boost the immune system. When you have the diet down pat you can start on antifungal agents, but you don't necessarily have to buy over-the-counter products because raw certified organic garlic (crushed) is one of the most effective anti-fungals (take at least 3 cloves per day). Oil of Oregano is also a good antifungal, from the health food store sold in concentrated drops - the best kind for the money contains no olive oil, but it cost a lot more. You take less of it (1 drop) per dose as opposed to 3-4 drops of the kind mixed with olive oil. It is very strong and needs to be mixed with an oil to take it, i.e. olive oil or coconut oil. Some people take it by putting each dose in a geletin capsule No. " OO " . Coconut oil is a good antifungal and should be part of your daily intake (2-4 tablespoons per day) which you can take in addition to garlic or Oil of Oregano. Pau D'Arco is also good, but less effective than garlic or oil of oregano. It can be bought in tincture form, and taken by drops, or as a tea (drink 4 cups per day). Many candida sufferers combine these natural antifungals, but I wouldn't add them all at once because die-off symptoms from killing candida can be overwhelming. Many people report stomach aches from taking it at the beginning and this is because it kills candida in the stomach. This can be helped by having it with meals. I suggest you start by adding coconut oil to your daily regime - buy a good expeller pressed coconut oil. By making garlic tea (in my article) you can treat candida in your mouth and throat (swishing it around for 2 minutes in your mouth before swallowing). After you've added antifungals you can add probiotics. Some people start on probiotics first and then antifungals - either way it works - or you can add them at the same time. IMO Cabbage Rejuvelac is the best probiotic but it can be troublesome to make (in my article). You can buy good simple probiotics - Non-dairy based Acidophilus - get one with at least 6 billion active cells per capsule, some are higher, and take 3 capsules per day. You can also get die-off symptoms and stomach aches. Usually acidophilus is taken without foods, but again, if you get a stomach ache taking it alone, take it with meals. I hope that helps you Phil. I could better advise you better if you tell me whether you're on the diet listed in my article (not all candida diets are the same and many are missing some very important aspects of health, especially " good " animal meats and " good " fats defined in my article), or at what stage you are at in curing your candida. The best in health, Bee
