Guest guest
How much Delta are you taking Jan? My daughter that has LOCAH takes 2.5mg of prednisone a day & said that her hunger has never increased because of it. I made a mistake earlier saying that she was on 5mg a day...But she has very high energy a doesn't have any weight to lose...is always on the go. At first the Endo put her on low dose birth control pills and 2.5mg of prednisone. She did very well..went off of the pill and has only been on the prednisone. My daughter had high levels of both DHEA's and Testosterone..I thought that she had PCOS at first...we have ovary issues as did my late Mom....sometimes there's a fine line when things start going wrong and you're trying to find the answers....and most doctors are clueless. Best to you, Re: Re: Deltacortril and metformin > I know for a fact the Delta makes me hungry, and nope, it didn't make me > magically lose weight. Guest guest
2.5mg, that is what made me hungry both times. I recently increased to 5mg and I am not any hungrier than on the 2.5. Also, last time I was on it for a whole 2 months and nope, still hungry - somehow at night I manage to realize I am hungry but not eat. I am taking it during the day now, decided to give it a try. I am drinking a ridiculous amount of water to try to pretend I am not hungrier, but I am hungrier. I hope it goes away eventually. My DHEA is high but high-normal, that is how they ruled out LOCAH - normal DHEA can't be converted into 20x the normal amount of Total Testosterone (11x was just my Free). And I already knew I was insulin resistant and pre-diabetic anyway. I also have the acanthosis nigricans (brown discolorations in specific areas). I have no cysts and I do ovulate though. Some doctors don't call what I have PCOS, they call it HAIR-AN (High Androgens, Insulin Resistance, Acanthosis Nigricans) Syndrome instead, since there are no cysts. I don't wanna go on the pill, cause I do ovulate anyway and I don't think it is good to take that kind of hormone since it will once again mess with my thyroid dosage. So I am gonna try to reduce it just with the weight loss (ha, what a joke - the future weight loss, I mean. LOL), the metformin, the prednisone (indirectly - I know that it will allow for the thyroid hormones to be better used, so that helps weight loss), switching to Armour, and possibly Avandia though I am avoiding that one, it is soooo expensive.
