Guest guest
I know we all have many mood issues due to hypo. Has anyone ever been told that they act " cold " and are " distant " ? Obviously I have and am wondering if it is something else I can attribute to the thyroid, even partially, or is it just me? Thanks for all responses. For example, if I was waiting to be served in a shop, the assistant would keep telling me she would be with me soon and would then start acting very nervous as though I looked angry or something. I never get angry but my face is obviously conveying something different. One doc that I saw asked me if I wanted solitude (which I do, I really do not want to mix with people), he had a theory that Greta Garbo and were hypothyroid. You hit it on the head....I always hear that my face is showing some type of emotion and I am NOT aware of it at all. Guest guest
I completely understand what you are going through. My roommate actually called my doctor once to tell him that i needed a checkup because i was being a cold, evil bi*ch. My god and i was. I knew i was and my thyroid levels were so off balance, there was NOTHING that anyone could do at the time. just delt with it. To this day i still hate myself for the way i treated my friends and family, I cried so many nighs because there was nothing that i could do to make myself better...and the way that i was during that time was not me and thank god that most people saw that. it did take some time, and i am still not myselfand im sure i'll never be, but i am not as angry any more. Life is too short.
Guest guest
I have a lot of anger that I didn't used to have. Actually, sometimes I'd say it's more rage. Sometimes at work I feel like I could just tear into people.I think from having to hold all that inside, sometimes people see me and think I'm in a bad mood. They have no idea!! I'm much more irritable than I used to be. Sheila inksavvy@... wrote:I completely understand what you are going through. Guest guest
I have never been accused of being cold, but I have been accused of being too passive and/or people get angry with me when they find out I am not as passive as I look. I wonder now that this topic has been brought up if it has something to do with the low energy of the hypothyroidism. Guest guest
Hello I havent been a member the this group for sometime now. Due the fact I know why I have my thyroid problem. Its called Celiac Diease Spur pronounced Spoor, or more commonley called CD. May I suggest you read the information on the net about this Diease. Just type Celiac information (sympotoms) into your search engine, there is tons of information about this. Good luck if you feel like you need to write and ask questions. Remember this is only a sugestion, as I am not a doctor, just a caring person, with Celiac. Thanks Hope suezeeq889 <suezeeq889@...> wrote: I know we all have many mood issues due to hypo. Guest guest
I have the problem controlling anger too. A couple months ago, in the height of my thyroid crisis, I ripped my husband's headphones from his head and broke them. In the year before I got the goiter, when I was starting to go hypothyroid, I did a lot of bad, violent things too, like beating people up and even smashing a car. Ok, now I sound like a total criminal... LOL Jan
Guest guest
She just had her glands tested - all her results are fine. DHEAS, cortisol, everything. Also, she is also not tired but wired or has any other symptoms of adrenal problems, other than the crazy part. I understand her problems, but I still think it is Borderline Personality Disorder. She used to be on psychiatric drugs and she was wonderful while on them - if it were an endocrine problem, wouldn't she continue to have problems even on the psychiatric drugs? Well, regardless of what it is, she needs to help herself, and she refuses. I make appointments at the shrink and she won't go. Guest guest
Well, there is something wrong with her - not just the crazy but the lots of mystery illnesses she's been having. Every doctor she sees says " get an HIV test " . She did, like 9 months ago, but it wasn't long enough after her divorce for it to be necessarily accurate. Her ex cheated on her all the time, with any old skank. So she either has HIV at this point or something else they can't even identify. Honestly, I no longer care. She found a place to live and is moving out, so it will stop being my problem very soon. Jan (who resigns from being a daughter) > the tests are just crap (especially adrenal).
