Guest guest
hi puneet, It takes 4-6 weeks to get every thing normal . However you may also want to have your Complete blood count test done to check if there is some other infection . Normally high ESR in the blood test and high lymphocytes count reflects an infection and requires specific antibiotics etc for that. --pankaj Puneet kumar wrote: > I have been taking the following medicenes for the past 20 days but no > relief: > > 1.Eltroxin 100mcg (Thyroxine Sodium) > 2.Arsitozyme digestive enzype > 3.Multi Vitamin tab > > How long will it it take for me to feel normal?? > > Gracia <circe@...> wrote: > > you need to get meds. > Gracia > > > > > > > > Hi, > > I've been suffering from indigestion, gas formation, burping, upset > > stomach, nausea for the past three montths.I've also lost about 14kg > > of weight during this period. Now the doctor says I've hypothryoidism > > and all these digestion problems are because of that.I had a blood > > test (Free t3,t4,tsh) done which confirmend hypothyroidism as my TSH > > was 60(normal value 7) and T4 only 0.12 (normal .7 to 1.5). > > > > Can the members answer the following > > > > 1.Is my indigestion problem due to hypothyroidism? > > > > 2.I've been loosing weight wihich is the opposite to what happens in > > hypothyroidism..is this normal? > > > > 3.I remain quite upset becuse of my stomach problem and the constant > > nausea, burping and gas formation. Can someone advise on how to tackle > > this? > > > > Pls help as I feel quite miserable these days.. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >

Hence be patient till the completion of 6 weeks. Meanwhile, you please try,in consultation with your doctor, the medicine " Razo " (medicine for ulcer, indigestion etc) 30 minutes before your breakfast in the morning). This has been given to me for the same problem which you are having. The medicine is working very well. This sounds as if something else is going on. Chuck

Guest guest
Hello, Have you checked into Candida? (a yeast overgrowth in the intestine) Speaking from experience...of course ...I had the same problem for a few months. I researched online and came across candida. I took yeast fighter pills for about a week and haven't seen heartburn, bloated belly, upset stomach, re-occuring yeast infections or dry mouth since. I used to have constant heartburn and even was on prevacid...now I don't take anything except an occasional yeast pill when I feel bloated or have heartburn. I sympathize with you, it took me months to figure out what was going on. Doctors don't help, they always think you full of it. There was a lot of info online, I did the " spit " test and I concluded that candida was causing my discomfort. It may be worth checking into. I wish someone would have told me > > > Hi, > I've been suffering from indigestion, gas formation, burping, upset > stomach, nausea for the past three montths.I've also lost about 14kg > of weight during this period. Now the doctor says I've hypothryoidism > and all these digestion problems are because of that.I had a blood > test (Free t3,t4,tsh) done which confirmend hypothyroidism as my TSH > was 60(normal value 7) and T4 only 0.12 (normal .7 to 1.5). > > Can the members answer the following > > 1.Is my indigestion problem due to hypothyroidism? > > 2.I've been loosing weight wihich is the opposite to what happens in > hypothyroidism..is this normal? > > 3.I remain quite upset becuse of my stomach problem and the constant > nausea, burping and gas formation. Can someone advise on how to tackle > this? > > Pls help as I feel quite miserable these days.. They finally sent her to an oral surgeon last week who spotted it right off. I had been telling her that was what it was every time it recurred for the last three years, but every time she found a physician that said no. Guest guest
I too have indegestion problems and I have started to take prilosec OTC and it really helps me. I don't take it everyday, but once every third day. I don't have any problems if I stick to that. I hope that helps. If you have bad heartburn, drink a mixture of honey, apple cider vinegar and warm water.....it gets it every time. Guest guest
Hi B.R and Pankaj, Thanks for your inputs, much aprreciated. I read somewhere that taking thyroxine pill on empty stomach in the morning makes it more effective. Is that true?? I take my pill after breakfast..should I take it before eating anything? I had been taking Omeprazole for a month..it helped with the burping but not with the gas formation..then I was diagonsed with hypo and the doctor told me to stop taking it. I had a complete blood count done about a month back.It shows E.S.R at 11mm (normal 05-10) and lymphocyte at 13% (norla 20-35).Is this abnormal? regards Puneet bramadurai@... wrote: > Hi puneet, I am also sufferring from the same problem like you.I am also taking thyronorm(50mcg) like you.In fact My problem was existing for the past five months.Only some 20 days back it was identified as hypothyroidism.I am having additional problems of drouwsiness even after breakfast. If I am hungry,I will feel fatigue as if I am a diabetic.(whereas I am not as confirmed by my GTT).As punkaj rightly pointed out,we have to wait for atleast 6 weeks(my doctor has given me medicine for 6 weeks)for the medicine to make metabolic changes in our body. Guest guest
Hi Puneet, You did a grave mistake of taking the pill after breakfast. You must have taken it immediately after brushing the teeth.Leave a gap of 15 to 30 minutes for your regular liquied diet(ie)coffee or tea.If you could have followed the above procedure, your TSH value would have come down by this time. At least now onwards, you follow this. Don't worry about the values of ESR and lymphocyte. The values will vary according to the body condition. Bye now. Guest guest
puneet, You should take the medicine in the morning empty stomuch and should not take anything (even water) for atleast half an hour. Remember that this is just a salt and thus can be dissolved easily in water. Your blood counts looks normal so need not to worry about this. Don't keep your stomuch empty for more than 2 hrs and take lots and lots of water 3+ lts per day and you should be fine. Guest guest
Hi pankaj, Your tips are very useful. Please tell me whether coffee will aggrevate hypo or reduce the intensity. The moment I take any liquid 30 minutes after my thyroxine,I started feeling drowsy. The feeling is there for the past 5 months even before I started taking Thyroxin. Tell me whether this will subside along with hypo. Reply me urgently. Guest guest
Dear punkaj, S.O.S. It is a distress call. I am not able to sleep properly in the night. Now I am suffering from sever gastroids for the past three days.I feel nausea, severe pain in the abdominal area and lot of gas release as soon as eat.Are they the sysmptoms of Hypo-T. Can the Thyroxin tablet create gastroids?I am taking 50 mcg thyroxin for the past 24 days.As soon as I start taking my appetite started increasing.I was getting hungry every three hours even during night hours.I was taking something or other to quench the hungry. Now the hungry has turned towards ulcer complaint. Now as soon as I take any thing,I suffer a severe stomach pain followed by gas release. I am not able taste even tea or coffee. My vertigo problem is in the increasing trend. My TSH was 6.2. only and T3 and T4 are well within the limit only. Our lab result says TSH should be between 0.4 and 4.0 Please reply me urgently. Rest of the details are down below. Guest guest
Hi Puneet, You were complaining gastroids some time back. Are you O.K. after taking your meds as soon as you got up.Tell me your present status. I have completed five weeks of medicine and now I will be meeting my endo by the week end for further course of medicine. My problem is vertigo when I am hungry and drowsi when my stomach is full. There is no imrpovement in my status.I am also getting an equal problem of gastroids like you.I am taking seperate medicines for that.In addition to that I am having joint pain in my knees. At present I am taking 50mcg of Thyroxin for the TSH of 6.2. I am getting hungry every three hours(At 4.00 a.m. I feel hungry every day)Because of this,I am forced to go bed before 10.00.p.m. B.R. Guest guest
Hi BR, I'm afraid my gastroid problem is still there.Doctor has prescibed Normaxin for the same and my endo has asked me to take Thyrox 25 (T3) along with Eltroxin 100 mcg (T4). I had a blood test done and my TSH was 9.2,T3 was in normal range and T4 slightly below normal. However,I still feel weak and get dizzy on getting up.So my condition is not so good. I've read somewhere that Hypo's get inner ear infection because of low T3.Your vertigo and dizzines could be because of this. You might ask your endo to prescibe a test to rule out ear infection. I'm also trying some home remedies for gastro problem.Mint sauce is very good for the same. Also some mint juice with a spoon of honey is said to be useful. bramadurai@... wrote: Hi Puneet, You were complaining gastroids some time back. Are you O.K. after taking your meds as soon as you got up.Tell me your present status. Guest guest
Hi Puneet, Thanks for exchanging your views. However I will be telling your views also to the Endo. But I was told Eltroxin and Thyronorm(Thyroxin) are the same and they are meant for T4 only. The medicine your are telling(Thyrox) is the same as Thyronorm(thyroxin)? or is it a different one. But my T3 and T4 are well within the range.I have checked many times my ears with many ENTs and every ENT has told me that my ears are normal.I have taken audiometry tests and Ct scna for temporal bone.My vertigo increases when I am inside A/C. room.Have you got any such experience? Let us continue our communications so that more informqations will come out. Please reply. B.Ramadurai. Guest guest
Hi Puneet, Could you be hypoglycemic? This could explain the dizziness and sleepiness after eating, and the need to eat often. I am being treated for my hypo symptoms okay but I get these spells as well. Check your blood sugars, and be aware of what you have eaten before you get the symptoms of dizziness or drowsiness. Remember of course, no food or medication containing iron or calcium in any form till at least four hours after taking your hypo meds. Both things interfere with absorption. You might want to try an enzyme formula before you eat any meal. They stop you bloating and help break down fats etc. more efficiently. Check the ingredients in your other meds. Guest guest
Hi Puneet, I am yet to hear from you regarding the difference between Thyrox 25(T3) and Eltroxin(T4).Is the thyrox is the same as Thronorm? My recent report says I am normal. My endo has declared I have regained normalcy though I feel I am not.My reports are as follows:TSH:2.71(RANGE:0.4- 4.0)T3:77.9(RANGE:84 - 172) T4:9.53(4.5 - 12.5)My endo says I have to continue with my THYRONORM 50 mcg(SYNTHETIC THYROXIN FOR T4).for my vertigo,he says,I have to consult ENT.Of,course I did some of the tests with ENT but they were alll negetive.I am yet to do some more tests. Please reply me immediately. Guest guest
Hi BR, I'm not sure on the similarity between thyrox and thyronorm.Difference between thyrox 25 and Eltroxin is that one is the source for T3 and other for T4. Good to hear your tests are normal. Guest guest
Hi Puneet, Yesterday I consulted a Doctor who clarified as follows:It is is enough if you test for free T4,because The synthetic thyroxin which we are taking orally, will get itself converted to T2,then T3 and finally stable T4.Hence what we are checking is free T4 which is the reminiscent that remains in the blood.Hence normally any doctor will ask for testing T4 and TSH only. But my vertigo problem in the morning is still prevailing and the drowziness after my breakfast is also praviling. Are you having any such problem? Please reply me. B.R. Guest guest
Hi BR, It is true that the T4 is converted into T3.However,it is important that your T3 levels be normal as it is T3 which works at the cellular lever.Hence most of the time all three i.e T3,T4 and TSH are tested. Yes,I also feel drowsy and dizzines.Day before yestreday I got up from my bed and collapsed! I also feel constantly fatigued and find it hard to move about freely and do work.So you see I'm enjoying life to the full and having lot of fun!! Jokes apart, this disease is taking its toll on me.How about you?
