Minerals are needed to keep them balanced in the body, and vitamin E is necessary for many functions, but is important for oxygenating. > > I followed your directives and for almost 3 months I have been trying different amounts of calcium and magnesium to see if I could find the balance needed. A couple of times I stopped taking cal/mag all together and the cramps stopped, then began again in a few days. The cramps have been awful and I have been desperate to find the solution at times, especially during my menstrual cycle when I was hit the hardest for about 2 weeks nonstop. There were times when I could feel the tension in my legs in the daytime and wondered where this was all going. > > Just this morning as I stood looking at my supplements wondering if I had overlooked any of the supplements that may contain any calcium or magnesium in them that I hadn't noticed before. Maybe switch to liquid chlorophyll instead of chlorella. > > I have found by trial and error every little detail is SO important and can make all the difference as I follow your diet plan to greater > health. If I leave out just 1 step, (even the electrolyte drink with lemon juice, seasalt and filtered water), in the daily routine you recommend I notice a difference right away. Maybe just use > magnesium since calcium is so high in the chlorella? If so how much > would you recommend? ==>Finish taking the chlorella, but take less per day. I think 15 tablets per day is even high for the chlorophyll benefits in it, but different tablets would differ of course. There are minerals in chlorella that can also throw off balances. When I used to recommend it, the dose was 2 tablets 3 times a day. Then you can probably take 150 mg of calcium in addition, and try 450 mg magnesium. > > Thanks for all your help Bee. :-) You are so welcome indeedy! Guest guest
Hi Bee, I am at my wits end. I have done what you suggested, but the awful leg cramps continue. They eased up for a day or two with the change of chlorella, calcium and mag, but are back with gusto every night, which causes me to loose sleep. :-( What do you suggest? I am doing everything you have instructed me to. I have been very faithful on your diet for a little over 4 months now. I really NEED to see and feel a difference at this point. The leg cramping simply has to stop. I am very concerned. HELP! Thank you so much. Debra NW ==>Finish taking the chlorella, but take less per day. HELP! ==>Debra, ensure you are taking the other supplements as well, i.e. cod liver oil, vitamin E, and if you are taking fish oil you must also take vitamin A, and that you are having enough ocean sea salt per day, at least 1-1/2 tsp. You can also try breathing exercise through your nose - see the Breath Right Folder. I think you could have low oxygen levels in your body, which is helped with vitamin E, along with other oil soluble vitamins, omega 3, and minerals. You will get leg cramps if you eat any chocolate particularly, but even if you have any sugars because they block oxygen to the cells. You might need 800 IUs per day of vitamin E instead 400 IUs. Let me know if any of this helps, and if not get back to me. Bee
Guest guest
Thanks SO MUCH for your help Bee. I upped my E and the lemon juice and seasalt drink, stopped the cal/mag yesterday and had no leg or foot cramps last night! I pray we are on the right track now. FYI: I am not eating any chocolate or sweets at all. I feel as if I am cheating by using strawberry chapstick. I am very intent on getting well ASAP. I am all ears if you have any other suggestions. Guest guest
Hello Bee, Well...it turns out I only had one nights relief then it all came back on me again. I think it was the herbal formula I took for sleep that helped that the leg and foot cramps not come on that night. (The formula has Passion Flower, Hops Flower, Catnip, Chamomile, Valarian Root, Lavender Flower, Myrrh, and Spearmint in it.) I got smart and took the calcium and magnesium citrate to my chiropractor today who does testing with supplements. He tested them and found my body is not absorbing them at all. Then he tested me with calcium carbonate and it looks like that is what my body works best with. Remember when I told you I had been through many differant calciums before and carbonate was the only one I had good results with? Why would this be? I know you say that citrate is the way to go, why does it not work for me? Any idea? Does any of this make sense? What now? Thanks! If you take plain calcium carbonate take it with plenty of vitamin C to help absorption. Bee

I must be doing something wrong. Whenever I have taken either Calcium Citrate or Calcium Carbonate I have taken it with 2 Vitamin C 1000 Complex tablets which contains: 2,000mg of Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) 1000mg Citris Bioflavonoid complex 40mg Rosehips extract 20mg Acerola Cherry extract 100mg Rutin. Wouldn't this be enough to help absorption? I took calcium carbonate yesterday to see what would happen. I had no leg or foot cramps last night, but I will see what happens over the next few days to see if I am on the right track or not. Should I try another brand of Calcium Citrate and Magnesium Citrate to see what happens? Is Calcium Carbonate an ok supplement to use? What about Magnesium Oxide or any other form of magnesium besides citrate? I really want to stick with your program all the way around because you have it so finely tuned. I am all ears to your suggestions. I do not want to do anything to throw the balance off. Everything else has work well so far. Thanks again. :-) Debra NW

Yes, calcium carbonate is okay, along with vitamin C. > > What about Magnesium Oxide or any other form of magnesium besides > citrate? ==>Magnesium oxide is not recommended, but magnesium carbonate is okay, which is also contained in most mag. citrate supplements. Both calcium and magnesium orginates from dolomite, which is the carbonate form of these minerals. > > I really want to stick with your program all the way around because > you have it so finely tuned. The calcium carbonate seemed to work for a few days, then the cramps would seem to be returning at times, but not as strong as before. In the past few days I thought maybe all this has to do with a digestion problem? So I looked in your files this morning and tried the baking soda test for low/high stomach acid. I didn't have any of the symptoms that were listed for low stomach acid in the article, but all along I have been wondering whether or not I am absorbing nutrients in food and supplements very well. I began to feel better in the first couple of months when I started your diet program, felt better than I had in a very long time, but over the last 3 months or so I have had very low energy and thought something wasn't quite right and I should be doing better than I have been. Anyway, when I took the 1/4 t in 8 oz of cold water this morning it felt like I may burp, but I didn't really burp until after 15 minutes or so, and then it was a very, very tiny burp. So I decided to take 6 oz of the lemon seasalt drink to see what would happen and I had a couple more small burps in a matter of minutes. It has been an hour now since I took the lemon seasalt water and I still feel I have to burp as I am writing this to you. I have been taking all the supplements you recommend since the second month on your program and have been very faithful to your diet plan as I so desire to be well. I am almost 5 months into the program now. I have not taken anything for digestion except the lemon seasalt drink so far. Do you think I need to take a digestive supplement at this point? If so Bee, what would you recommend? Any other changes I need to make? Thanks SO much for all your help. :-) Debra NW

Even a cup of tea contains 120 mgs. If Debra isn't getting enough ocean sea salt for the trace minerals it could also cause a problem. If so Bee, what would you recommend? ==>Review the section on digestion in the latest revision of my Candida article - I believe you do need extra help with your digestion but even taking 1-2 tbls. sauerkraut with every meal can improve digestion to the point of not requiring hydrochloric acid tablets, so maybe try that first. To improve your energy do ensure you are getting the right fat ratios. Even when your energy flags you can take a teaspoon of coconut oil and it will pick up your energy very soon, but don't take it too close to bedtime because it can interfere with sleep. Let me know what helps you. The best, Bee

At first I thought it was just the hot weather we were having or maybe the niacin I was taking, but it is a definite unannounced 'hotflash' out of nowhere at all hours of the day and night. The past few days I have been feeling things trying to happen in my sinus area around my eyes, with sneezing and a stuffy head feeling. The glands in my throat and one of my ears are trying to cause problems. You are doing everything you can to fortify yourself. Extra vitamin C will help you most at this time; in the morning make up a container full of ocean sea salt, lemon and vitamin C for the day.
