Hi ,

I am one of those for whom the synthetics seem to work better than

Armour - but I take a combo and the T3 is time release not cytomel.

Armour did work for me but not quite as well as the synthetic.

You need different hormones for adrenal support.

Armour question

Hi All,

I think I have asked this before, but now that I am more educated I

need to ask again:

Armour, I know that it is all natural and contains T3 as well as T4.

Now...Is the only difference from taking synthroid plus cytomel (or any

other T3 synthetic) is that it is synthetic and not natural?

What are the benifits from going to Armour from synthroid? (for those

who used to take synthroid?)

I am seeing a new endo next month and am asking about adding T3, I feel

I need to, (I am on synthroid now, only) and just wondered about the

options.

Also,

would this take care of adrenal support or is that different?

Thanks in advance

Hi ,

In answer to the the first question yes Armour is natural and the other

stuff is synthetic.

Can't say anything about Armour as I am on all synthetics T3 and T4

Levothyroxine and Tertroxin in the U.K.

Armour contains everything that normally comes in the

thyroid since it is dessicated thyroid from either

cows or pigs. It has t4, t3, t2, t1.

If your body cannot transform t4 into t3 then you'll

need both. I'm currently on Armour and I was on

Levothroid which is synthetic T4. I can tell you that

I feel better overall.

Most docs advocate against Armour and when you ask

them why, they give you a fuzzy answer without basis.

The fact is most of them stoped prescribing it in the

70s 80s. However in Canada, they mostly prescribe

Armour. Hmmmmm

Cost comparison: you'll find Armour MUCH MUCH cheaper

than the synthetic. Hmmmm. Another reason to switch

and give less to the big pharmas.

Good luck. Keep in mind that the above is based on my

own experience only. It is neither a recomendation or

advice, and should not be construed as such.

IMO groggy when you wake up means you need more ARmour and adrenal support. This combo works very well.

Armour should have an "A" on it, I wouldn't take generic. The other uncomfortable symptoms are very adrenal.

have you looked here?

I am trying to take Armour AGAIN for a couple weeks before I start T3 only therapy for 3 weeks (s syndrome therapy). I was think trying Armour would be good to get my system use to theextra T3. I would just try to ignore the weird symptoms it gives me. I have been taking 125mcgof Levoxyl. Last month I took the Armour - 1/2 grain tablets; I was taking 5 of those when I stopped (so2-1/2grains) and was having having neck aches and mild heart issues and other complaints so Istopped. Here's the deal. A new doctor gave me a packet of 1 grain Armour tablets and told me to take onein the morning and one mid day. I did this the other day and was so sped up and I was extremelyjittery. It felt like I had taken too much. I had throat constriction and what seemed likehiatal hernia pain that lasted for about 30 minutes. I didn't get to sleep until 3 a.m. becauseof the jitteriness. For the last two days I have taken just one pill (1 grain) and I feel surprisingly good. TheArmour pill I am taking now is not as small as the tiny ones I was taking but still small. It istan with the letters TCL with the numbers 022. Is this indeed 1 grain? Why would I now not beable to take 2 grains when I was taking 2 grains for a days and 2 and a half grains just weeksago? I was not taking the 2-1/2 grains in divided doses like I did with the 2 grain tablets. The onlyother thing different is I have added cod liver oil and extra EPA/DHA for a total of about 3200mg.The soundness and depth of sleep I get while on Armour is very odd for me. I am not familiar withbeing that groggy when I wake up...I don't think I have EVER been that groggy. I shake it offeventually; maybe that is how everyone is supposed to sleep...I just am not use to it... I dodream vividly though.__________________________________________________

Hi Lilian,

I will await with

interest when I reorder.

Subject: Re:

Armour question

Bought from the same place as we buy ours , same packet same

everything.

Lilian

I

know some sizes were withdrawn for potency reasons- so maybe there has been a

reformulation

It even

says on the packaging that it has a distinctive smell.
