Guest guest
I've just started adding meat and fats to my diet. I also finally got my ratios figured out and this was the first day of trying to get my foods right. By supper time I had enough protein, almost enough carbs but not nearly enough fats though I used lots of butter and some homemade mayo for earlier meals. I ended up making some white rice (not sure if that was a good choice, plus it upped my carbs a bit) with lots of butter and sautéed some onion, garlic, etc in more butter. I actually ended up getting close to my fat but don't think my supper choice was the greatest. I don't have coconut oil yet - well I do have tons of it cause I use it to make my own soap, but not the right kind to cook with. I hope to pick some up maybe tomorrow. I've been using my Rice Bran oil. I know it's supposed to be a no, no - but I've read reports that it's good and right up there with coconut and olive. Having said that, I " am " going to switch to the coconut oil. Hoping to get some fatty cuts of meat tomorrow too, but I need to up the fat without upping the protein. I'm just not sure how to up the fats more. Gail

By the way Gail, if you make your own soap you might be interested in a project with one of our other members, who bought a large amount of tallow but cannot use it. I won't commit her, but if you are interested email me at: beewilder@... > > Hoping to get some fatty cuts of meat tomorrow too, but I need to up the fat without upping the protein. Don't forget to add your cod liver oil and mayo as fats - the mayo recipe provides the amount of fats, etc. - at the bottom of the recipe ratios for 2 tbls. is there. ==>A good bacon is high in fats, but it must be without nitrates, sulphites, sugar, salt, etc., and not smoked. For some reason I was thinking it was an OK food and didn't check my food list first. I woke up in the middle of the night with extreme sciatica pain in my leg. I had not had any for several days. It only lasted a few minutes though. My first thought was that maybe it was a reaction to the rice. However today I'm having so much light- headedness I'm wondering if it's all die off symptoms. I had some light-headedness yesterday but not as bad as today. It is kind of scary. Even after eating my lunch, tuna w/homemade mayo and a few chopped veggies, it didn't get better. Thought maybe eating some more fat might help, so I ate some butter on a rice cake (I know, another no no, but I needed something to slather butter on). That seemed to help a little. By the way, last night after eating that rice and the " tons " of butter I used, I had more energy and felt better than I have in a long, long time. So do you think it was from the butter? Anything else I can do for the light-headedness? I wasn't able to get out today to get my coconut oil, etc. I usually sell my soaps and stuff at our farmer's market on Sats and if this light-headedness continues I don't know how I'll be able to manage going. Money is tight right now, so this is a big issue for me. Gail
Guest guest
Dearest Gail. You will have more symptoms, light-headedness, etc. if you do not follow the diet. Reactions to white rice and rice cakes can last for 2-3 days. Bee >> > Bee > I think my body told me that in the middle of the night. I had the dizziness yesterday before I ate anything bad. I've also been experiencing it off and on for the past week and usually if I eat a little something it would go away. Most of the time it will start in the morning before I have anything to eat. Then usually as soon as I eat brkfst it will subside shortly afterward. Yesterday it was a little worse and today really bad. Didn't go away after brkfst and I had to sit down twice while making my little tuna salad at lunch for fear of fainting. After eating the butter it was a little better but was still having problems. So then cooked up a steak burger and ate that. After abt an hour the light-headedness went away. So maybe the rice made it worse, I dunno ... but it wasn't the first time, just the worst. Gail

To understand better what you are going through, and will be going through healing-wise read articles in the Healing Naturally & Die-Off Symptoms Folder. It's not easy Gail, but hang in there. We've all been in your situation at one time or another, so we understand how tough it is. We're here for you, Bee
