Guest guest
, I don't know what Bio-Thyro Balance and Bio -Assinilation are. Are these OTC or prescription? Is there a label? Illegal to go to a doctor??? They had tests results that you didn't provide??? This is the " beauty " of socialized/nationalized medicine. What right did they have to access your medical records? Where is your medical privacy? I don't understand why you put up with that. Val in Boulder, CO -----Original Message----- From: Codling, [mailto:john.codling@...] Hi Everybody when you get desperate you do deportee things. I have just seen a Dr in London with out a referral, which I believe is against the Law. I have had lots of weird test , with a meter of some sorts. To be fair they did pick up some past medical history that I had not told them about. And if you see these type of Drs then you have to do what they tell you. The whole Medical Bill was 45o Pounds a lot of money to me. The main reason for this mail is I was given Bio Thyro Balance I have been told this is a thyroid medication . what is it ? Is it an steroid... I also have been given Bio -Assiniliation what is this.

Guest guest
Dear , I wanted to add that I couldn't really find anything in English about the Bio Assimilation, and I wasn't really sure about the spelling. Anywho, I think it is likely by the same company or similar to the same company that makes the Bio Thyro. Basically it sounds like a product to help you better assimilate vitamins and minerals, though I can't be sure. It's an educated guess though. Hope this helps. Let me know if there is anything else I can try to help you find out. Good luck! Naomi
Guest guest
Dear , I see your point, if you don't have a thyroid gland, why would they give you something to make it function properly. It's a moot point. Sounds like you need to ask some questions. Hopefully they weren't just pushing a nutrional product on you to get you out of the door. Was the dr. or practioner aware that you did not have your thyroid gland? Sincerely, Naomi

Guest guest
Dear , Well, the company that sells the Bio Thyro is from London, I am sure that is not surprising. The words underneath it says: Environmental Nutrition for the Toxically Challenged Patient. http://www.dgmedical.com/index.htm Here's a ditty on Energy Testing: http://www.feelingfree.net/awareness/selftest.htm Sincerely, Naomi
Guest guest
I still don't get it. Can't see a specialist without the government's permission? Val in Boulder, CO -----Original Message----- From: R [mailto:crawson@...] I'm in Australia and we are not allowed to see a specialist here without a written referral from a GP. The referral only lasts for 12 months, unless we request an open referral which doctors only give if they expect the problem warrants very long-term specialist care. Or it could mean the beauty of the computer age? It's very convenient for me that, when I go to a new doctor, they can access the results of past tests in my name from a lab. That's especially true recently, when I've been seeing different doctors for different issues, and having multiple screenings. I sometimes forget just what they have and haven't checked for. I sign a waiver allowing them to access records for the purpose of treating me effectively, when I have a first appointment. The referral only lasts for 12 months, unless we request an open referral which doctors only give if they expect the problem warrants very long-term specialist care. In most cases the expectation is that the specialist will return the patient to the GP with a clear diagnoses and/or recommendations for on-going treatment. > Val in Boulder, CO > > -----Original Message----- > From: Codling, [mailto:john.codling@...] > > Hi Everybody > when you get desperate you do deportee things. > I have just seen a Dr in London with out a referral, which I believe is > against the Law. > > I have had lots of weird test , with a meter of some sorts. Guest guest
> I still don't get it. Can't see a specialist without the government's > permission? It's not a government requirement, not some big brother thing. I've lived in the US and spent time in various other countries too, and perhaps you don't understand that the US is just as bogged down by regulation as a lot of other places. The referral system in Australia is an AMA initiative as I understand it. The government offers a higher rebate to patients referred by a GP, arguably because the government is trying to ensure that specialists don't get bogged down as nursemaids for problems that GPs can handle just as well or better, and that people choose the speciality accurately. A good GP is a great medical provider, not least because they get to know you personally and often also know your family (common health problems, financial status, important life events). The AMA feels they are doing patients as well as professionals a favour financially. Medicare does not contribute towards the cost of most cosmetic surgery and some other services, such as refractive surgery to correct defects of vision. Because of this, some specialists providing these types of services will see you unreferred. Of course alternative medical practitioners are outside the AMA umbrella. There is no government rebate for them, though surprisingly private health care funds MAY subsidise visits to them whereas those same health funds don't give a cent towards registered Specialist care unless it's received while you are a hospital in-patient. :-)
