Guest guest
Debby, I will always use it too, just can't go overboard like I was before. I also feel I must sound like a broken record to my friends and family. I use this stuff on everything! It's awesome, I moisturize my body with it, put it in my ears and nose everyday, cook with it...I love it! I did get my sister to use it as a sunscreen and she could not believe that she didn't burn while in the sun all day ;+) Shirley >From: Debby Padilla-Hudson <debbypadilla@...> >But even when I am cured I am sure I will still >incorporate coconut oil as a big part of my diet. I'd love to put it on my face every day to keep from getting wrinkles on my face. But when I've done it in the past I always just felt overly greasy and kind of yucky. With acne prone skin I'm used to using oil free and stuff. I bet the coconut oil would help with the acne because it would kill the bacteria and mousturize at the same time, but I can't get over the overly greasy feeling. Guest guest
Debby, Im very prone to acne too, but I've been using the coconut oil on my face twice a day and have not had a single breakout. I had the same concern, there's hardly anything I can use on my face without a reaction, but so far so good :-) (I've tried a lot of products in the past without success). The greasiness goes away because it absorbs and then you're left with very soft skin. It takes longer to absorb than a moisturizer, but that's the beauty of it, it means you can give your face a really nice massgae. It's an excellent massage oil. elyse On 2-Jul-06, at 2:46 AM, Debby Padilla-Hudson wrote: > With acne prone skin I'm used to using oil free and > stuff. Guest guest
Debby, That " greasy " feeling only lasts for a short time while the coconut oil sinks in. It felt weird to me at first too. Now, I wash my face pre morning shower and apply a very small amount of c o (Just a dab) and rub it in. Also apply the oil to the rest of my body. Then I go start my water for my tea and egg drink (I use my coffeemaker to heat water in the morning.) I also turn my shower on so the water gets really hot. By the time I return to the bathroom a couple minutes later the oil has started sinking in and the room is steamy. I turn the shower off and just sit and breath the steam for a few minutes, allowing the c o to moisturize my skin some more. Turn the shower back on and hop in. I use a good castile shampoo with avocado oil on my hair and a wonderful lard-coconut oil-olive oil soap where needed on my body but nothing on my face at this point. Rinse and pat dry. By then all the c o has been absorbed into my face and my skin is soft but not " greasy. " I use almost no make-up...only some lipstick once in awhile and maybe a touch of blush if we are going out somewhere special. I get such wonderful comments on my complexion these days that there's no need to cover it up. Guest guest
I tried using it during the day on my face and found that my eyemake-up didn't agree with all the moisture so now I only use it on my face at night, everywhere else though on my body, anytime. Debby, we should do commercials for this stuff! I know I can be rather convincing when I want to be... Guest guest
That's great to hear! I had used it before on my body and felt greasy for quite a while.. maybe I just used too much. It's great in my hair though. I'll try to do it on my face again with a lighter touch, and let you know how it goes. Guest guest
Thanks for the tips. My complexion looks better than ever now, but I still have a bit of redness from the acne I got when I stopped the coconut oil those two weeks. So I've been back to wearing foundation for a little while. Look forward to when my skin is back to normal. I'm going to give the CO another go. Guest guest
Hey, could you try it all over your face, but avoid the eye area? I dab a little on my forehead, over my nose and then on each cheek, and then I blend it all over my face. If there is any excess I wipe it lightly with a tissue. But I try to leave time between applying it and applying my makeup. Luv, Bee
