jacqueline...has your doctor tested you for Celiac Sprue? It is another autoimmune disease. I have it plus AIH...HOWEVER, I am one of the 8% of celiacs whose body thinks it is starving and SAVED all of the food that I eat. So, consequently, I am very fat! Oh well....I am learning to accept myself.

But, please have your doctor check you our for Celiac....it is a simple blood test

Hi everyone, i havn`t posted for some time now, although i always like to read through the e-mails when i can. I can only use my computer after six in the evenings, and by that time i`m generally too exhausted to do much.As well as having aih. i also suffer from allergies, gynaecological problems and depression. So please forgive me if i havn`t managed to answer peoples e-mails.I wondered if any of you on steriods had problems with eating.I buy food, then i can`t handle eating it.I`m very slim so even loosing a few pounds shows on me.My doctor has given me nutrition drinks to take when i can`t face food, but this is most of the time. Does anyone else have this problem, do you think it`s related to aih or depression or maybe a combination of both.I wondered also if people suffered from "furry tongues". I wish the best for you all, and just wish i could be more helpful to others in their time of need. Maybe one day.God bless jacqueline

Hi, no he hasn`t tested me for Celiacs. Is that to do with the body not being able to tolerate glucose. If so i know someone with that illness, and she is very thin. I must mention it to my doctor.thanks jacqueline or jak

Celiac is where the body cannot digest anything with gluten in it....wheat, oats, rye, or barley....not in pills, food, anything.....generally the people are stick thin....many die....doctors actually have accused people of having that disease anorexia nervosa...but it is just that the body cannot survive on no nutrients. I have one friend who has it who nearly died from cardiac arrest. She finally got the dx. Generally, the doctor will do a blood test to see if you are positive for gliadins and then if the blood work is positive, then you can opt to have an endoscopy to "prove" the dx. OR, you can just go on gluten free diet...it is an intersting diet to go on....but good too.

Everybody's complaining about the hunger, and I have completely lost my

appetite. After having been fairly sick for one week, with high fever, I

have lost three kilos and don't gain weight. I don't feel like eating,

I'm too tired. I saw my acupuncturist yesterday, that calmed me down for

I was crying all the time.

All I eat is a few eggs and some chicken broth.

Has this happened to anyone of you? How much time will it take for me to

recover? It's scary. I have lost interest in anything really. I do take

my supplements. I sleep alright, but don't wake up refreshed. It seems

to have taken everything out of me, this cold and fever. I'm still

coughing a bit, but the fever has gone entirely.

==>Dearest a. I totally understand what you are going

through. I am one of those people whose appetite suffers greatly

when I'm under stress, sick, etc. It works against us in many ways,

because when I was under such severe work stress in 2004 I got my 2nd

bout with candida. Not having an appetite created a vicious circle

for me. When I had candida in the mid 1980s and also in 2004 I lost

tons of weight. In the mid 1980s at one point I was losing 3 lbs.

per day. In 2004 I went from a Size 14 to a Size 8, and that's too

skinny for 5' 6 " tall.

==>What I suggest is that you have the raw egg drink 3 times a day (3-

4 eggs each), and try to have more chicken broth (at least 3 times a

day). It is important to keep your nutrient intake UP in spite of

not feeling like eating. Also take epsom salts baths, at least one a

day, and do dry skin brushing faithfully, along with the other

recommendations, i.e. enemas, sea salt and lemon juice drink, etc.

You'd do well having 4 cups of Pau D'arco tea per day too.

Let us know how it goes for you.

Hugs, Bee

Thank you, Bee.

My problem is, the raw egg drink is with Stevia, and I haven't found a

way of getting Stevia in the Netherlands yet.

In fact, selling it for internal use is forbidden here, strangely

enough. But I'll try your other points.

I'm still very very tired, I think that's the main problem. Too tired to

eat.. Too tired to prepare food.

But I'll try. My clothes are way too big all of a sudden. Let's hope

it'll get better soon. I'm off work for over a week now.

I'll try a bath tonight.

Try making the egg drink without the stevia. I personally do not like

the taste of stevia so I make the drink without it and it tastes fine

to me. Over time, your taste buds do adjust to not adding any

sweetener to foods.

Good Luck!

+++Hi . One of the reasons people lose their appetite is

because of stress. Stress makes your body run on its sympathetic

nervous system which shuts down digestion to a greater or lesser

degree, along with its affects on the adrenals, etc.

+++To switch your body over to its parasympathetic nervous system do

frequent deep breathing exercises, and do whatever it takes to relax

and help your body detoxify, i.e. Epsom salt baths, coffee enemas,

thumping your thymus every day, dry skin brushing, etc.

Here's the deep breathing articles:

Here's How to Detoxify Effectively:

Also, some herbs & spices stimulate appetite, and I recommend

drinking raw ginger tea before meals, and ensure your foods are

spiced.

Also ensure you are taking enough Betaine HCl.

Yes, Bee, you are absolutely right. I've been very stressed lately,

mostly with school, but also with other things like fighting with my

son's daycare (we have another appointment with the doctor and

dietician in Dec.)and just the frustration of being on this diet - I

feel very left out of social activities, especially now with

Christmas coming.

I'll do the deep breathing and will go back to doing the dry skin

brushing. I was doing it before but didn't notice a difference

whether I did it or not, so I quit it just to have one less thing to

do. And I will make sure to do the thymus thumping daily -

incidently, I do it subconsciously when I'm really, really stressed.

Is there an alternative to epsom salts? It's not available in this

country and to import the amount we need would be outrageously

expensive.

I'm waiting on my enema bottles to arrive. Couldn't get those here

either - at least not the recommended ones. *sigh*

I will also do your other recommendations - thanks a lot. I really

appreciate it.

Sorry this is such a pity fest - this has been a difficult few months

and it's all catching up with me today...

+++Hi . You've been handling a lot of very serious issues, so

it's understandable you are stressed. I'll send you some warm

fuzzies and healing vibes~~~~~

+++Dry skin brushing helps your endocrine system detoxify, so try to

do it every other day at least.

+++It's okay . You've been through a lot, and you too are

allowed to indulge in self pity now and again. When I feel sorry for

myself I'm determined to enjoy it. Might as well eh? So I wallow in

it, milk it for all it's worth, etc. - that's when I pamper myself a

lot and take a " self-love " holiday! LOL!

+++When you're stressed it's best to have an all liquid diet too,

i.e. bone broths, soup, Bee's Egg Drink, etc.

+++I admire you a lot ! You are one amazing woman!

Thanks, Bee! You have no idea how much it means to have you say all

those things. I really needed to hear it today!

much more capable. Your potential is much greater than you yourself
