When to take HCl

Dear Sheila & others,

>>>The stomach begins to have HCl working from the first to the last

bite of a meal. The more you eat the more HCl is produced, so why

should it matter when you take it?

>>>I do know it is best to have some food in your stomach before you

take the HCl. A few bites of something solid works fine.

==>FYI: My doctor (M.D.) told me to take digestive enzymes about

halfway through meals and not on an empty stomach.

Cheers,

Bee

Is it okay to take HCl supplementation with plant digestive enzymes

or will they counteract each other?

I have been taking a digestive enzyme mixture that I got at the local

health food store. It has HCl, pancreatin and plant digestive enzymes.

I'm assuming it's OK if they are all packaged into one pill.

If you're taking Candex, the instructions are to take it at least a couple

hours after your last meal and at least an hour before breakfast. I think

this is because you want the plant digestive enzymes to work on your

candida, not the salad you had for dinner. :)
