Guest guest
So I just wanted to share that today I hit 100 (a whole centry) pounds lost (86 on this diet, 14 weaning onto the diet by slowly removing foods over several months). I still have 130 to go to get to what I believe will be my goal weight, but it's exciting to be much closer to the half way point and at triple digits emotionally/mentally. Although I will have to eat the this way the rest of my life anyway, I look forward to when I can get to my destination. The food will stay the same but I'll be able to say " I did it " . So after 2 weeks of no weight loss when I removed coconut oil, I made up for it this week by losing 5 pounds after getting back on the coconut oil! That's the most I've ever lost in a week (highest before in the beginning was 4 pounds a week consistently, which gradually shifted from 2-3 pounds a week). I guess my body just loves that coconut oil. Thanks for letting me share... Guest guest
Congratulations Debby! Isn't the weight loss such a wonderfully pleasant side effect of this program? I know it is for me. Like you, I started this program extremely overweight (medical profession calls it " morbidly obese " ). I have lost 51 pounds in 4 months and expect I will keep losing until I am at a more " normal " weight (whatever normal is supposed to be). I've seen lots of other changes too...as I know you have from reading your posts. This is the best program...for so many reasons. Again, congratulations, and kept it up! Guest guest
Debby! Congrats! That is wonderful, you are doing a great job! I so look forward to hearing good reports from you as time goes on. I have learned much from your posts since I first joined this forum. I looked through Hudson's photos the other day and there were so many that were just like ones I took of my son when he was little, including grandma bathing in the sink, 49ers, chair passed down through the family, etc. What fun! You have a very handsome young man too! Keep up the good work! Guest guest
Hey there, Thanks for the note. My goal is to lose weight and cure my candida at the same time. But the candida diet does the trick. I just have to make sure I manage it. How much more do you have to lose now? You are doing great! Luv, Debby San , CA --- Tiger Lily <sweettiger@...> wrote: > Congratulations Debby! Guest guest
Thanks Debra! I have a long way to go but I feel that I can do this this time because this diet helps me with my sugar addiction the way normal low carb (with low carb chocolates, splenda, cream) never did. Thanks for the compliments on my little Hunter (who was actually named after Hunter-Gatherer, for the Paleolithic spirit that is a passion in my life). It was my little Hunter who really inspired me to take hold of my life/health. After he was born I knew I couldn't bear not being able to run and play with him. He was quickly becoming mobile and I wanted to be mobile with him. So the first year of his life I spent getting my act together to make this lifelong commitment emotionally, physically, spiritually. Then for his first birthday my gift to him was a commitment to be a healthier mom and better role model. That day I joined a gym and got rid of the last illegal item I was still using on this diet - coffee with cream. I've had amazing results since then, but most importantly who I am and what I value has changed. I no longer see the value in chocolate cake.. it's not worth it. Guest guest
I have much further than you to go (still 170 lbs shy of current goal, though that may change as I lose)...but when I started out in February I was pretty much the same place you were when you started. Watching your progress has given me an idea of what to expect. Again, I congratulate you Debby. You are an inspiration! hugs, Ellen Re: [ ] A whole century > Hey there, > > Thanks for the note. Guest guest
Sounds like you had 230 total to lose as I did, right? Let me know if you ever want support or anything OK? Guest guest
I am impressed! You are doing a great job on many levels. You are a wonderfully devoted Mom and I am sure the little one's life will be only enriched by your loving efforts inspired by his wee little life. :-) Keep up the great work! I don't know about being a devoted mom, but I can't help but be passionate about his food being quite healthy because I don't want him to grow up with the problems I had, being obese and full of candida as a small child. I was given tons of antibiotics and my teeth are permanently stained yellow, plus went through countless ear, sinus and UTI's because of the candida. So I am very protective of my son's health because of my experience. I'm so stubborn about this subject I almost forbid my MIL to see him after she snuck potatoes in his food, but she signed a contract with me stating that won't happen again. Also I'm sure she sees now I'm not playing around on this subject and don't even try to push my boundaries with this one like she does everything else. Guest guest
--- susan krukas <tauttodream@...> wrote: > what was you life like before you had hunter? Well, I had been on and off low carb for 12 years before Hunter. I had a hard time sticking to it, and once in a while I'd make an excuse to go off (some special occasion, etc.) and end up in a binge. Before I got pregnant with Hunter I had actually decided to buckle down and start working towards my goal of losing weight again. I was already feeling that I didn't want to cheat anymore. I had gotten down to 265 about a year before getting pregnant (from 340) and had let the weight creep back up to 280 (where I am now) just by eating too much low carb junk. Plus I tried for 1.5 years to get pregnant and it wasn't working, and I knew low carb helped with fertility. When I got pregnant with Hunter, I saw it as an excuse after so long of dieting to just be a glutton. So I ate everything I wanted, and paid dearly for it. I vomited several times a day through my whole pregnancy. My blood pressure sky-rocketed, and I gained 100 pounds. I kept trying to get off the sugar but I had let the addiction take a really strong hold of me again. After I had Hunter, and a terrible vertical c-section, I was in so much pain from the surgery, the extra weight, and falling on my knee right after having him that I totally hit bottom. It was that pain, and the intense indescrible love I felt for my son that really made me feel that no food on this earth was worth feeling that way and not being able to enjoy my son. At first my back hurt so much I couldn't do most daily tasks, or even carry my son without pain. > You > sound like you definately got it together for your > son's sake, but more importantly for you... How > long did it take for the diet to kick in for you? I'm not sure what you mean by kick in? I did everything really slowly. I started by spending 8 months without a cheat on just regular low carb, Atkins style. Then I spent four months switching to Bee's diet, which I finally got rid of the last no-no item on 10/11/05 (my son's first birthday). I was on the stricter diet for a while before I started adding in antifungals. I started with the antifungals (coconut oil, oregano oil, garlic) in february. I do take probiotics once a day too, and have for 3 months. Except for about 60 minutes after taking oregano oil daily, I don't get any die off symptoms. Most of my symptoms have completely gone away and have stayed that way and progressively get better except for the one time I took antibiotics, and the one time I went off coconut oil. As I went through each step I feel better and better.. I don't really have periods of feeling bad or anything. My acne is about 99% better.. I only get blemishes during my cycle and barely then. My butt doesn't itch at all, and my psoriasis gets slowly better. I haven't had any psoriasis blisters since starting this program (I get these awful itchy blisters, then peeling skin) and just the peeling skin in small amounts. A patch that I've had for years is completely gone, and another patch is halfway healed. The psoriasis heals VERY slowly. I do still get bouts of diarreah here and there, but that doesn't bother me. I also get gas, bloating and cramping sensations after taking the oregano oil that last about an hour. But it's pretty mild and doesnt bother me. I feel like I'm cleaning stuff up with that. > how long have you been on it? Answered that one above.
