Guest guest
Well the problem is - it all CAN go hand in hand. My CFS and IBS is directly related to the Candida - EBV can make CFS worse, plus the sleep apnea doesn't help. As I've mentioned before - Everything that I have wrong with me right now go hand-in-hand. They are intertwined, and have crossover symptoms. I suspect you are in the same boat. When treating Candida - you need to rest - my nutritionist told me that I needed 10 hours of sleep a day to get my adrenal system back in shape. She said even if I wasn't actually " sleeping " just laying there (doing nothing) would help. No reading, no watching TV, no talking - just laying there pretty much thinking of nothing. Usually I would fall asleep out of self-defense (: It is very possible that by getting the Candida under control - everything else will fall into place. I believe (but I am no expert) this is partially because you are getting your body back into balance. It will not happen over night - it may not happen in 6 months - but you need to be consistent. If you expect to be better in a couple of months, you could be setting yourself up to fail. My personal experience, the first time I tried to treat Candida - I felt worse before it got better. It did get better, but then I become complacent and fell back into my old habits. If you paid for the ultra stuff, and don't want it - take it back (if you can). If you can't take it back - then use it and see what happens. There are many web sites out there that tell you how to do your own cleanses. Diet and Rest are going to be very key to getting healthy. If you are not satisfied with the care you are receiving, then I would suggest going to the library and checking out several books on CFS and Candida - read them. Go to the many web sites out there and find the cleanses/supplements that click with you and see if you can do this on your own. That's my 2 cents (: Good luck! Candace _____ From: Ann Greenberger [mailto:greenline@...] Sent: Thursday, August 19, 2004 8:27 AM Subject: [ ] CFS or candida? I'm upset, frustrated, and spending too much money on things that may not work. Would love some feedback from this group. One of my major questions is whether I have CFS, or if my diagnosis is Candida. I've paid a lot of money to go to a famous nutritionist medical doctor (Dr. Janson) and be put on supplements. Yesterday, I paid an enormous sum to a naturopath and acupunturist for 3 sessions and Ultra InflamX and Ultra Clear cleansing stuff. I'm not convinced that the Ultra stuff will do anything. Should I bother? Should I return it? Here's the bottom line: a.. I'm 46 b.. I had mono at age 20 c.. panic attacks and feeling like hell started then d.. I took meds for panic, also meds for depression e.. major lack of energy, brain fog, etc. f.. IBS started in mid-20s g.. stopping dairy reduced incidence of IBS h.. diagnosed with sleep apnea 4 years ago (had it for at least 20 years) i.. sleep still an issue even with c-pap treatment j.. feel like hell. k.. i have a high pulse rate (body working overtime for some reason) l.. can't work outside of my home because sick too much m.. a lot of antibiotic use as kid for ear infections and now for sinusitis n.. chronic nasal congestion and sinusitis Both the nutrition doc and the acupuncture/naturopath suspect candida problem. But no one mentions CFS--maybe they don't " do " chronic fatigue syndrome. Who knows. I'm frustrated, jaded, and running out of money. Any advice? Guest guest
I remember Bee suggesting dry brushing the body twice a day as a way to help adrenal function. I do this once a day, before my daily shower, and I tell you it feels great. If you like your back scratched you're going to love it. I believe an explanation on how to dry brush is listed in the files. As far as CFS goes there are clinics around the country which specalize in this illness. I have two friends who have this condition and they both go to a clinic in Seattle, WA. It is a bit tricky to identify CFS, but it can be done. If you think you may have it It would be wise to find out. There is help available. You might want to look at Ask the Doctor at www.westonaprice.org. I know I mention WAP a lot, but that is because their suggestions are often excellent. Dr. Tom Cowan (lives in CA I think) has advice for many illness's on Ask the Doctor. I always check it out before going anywhere else on the wwww. I hope you see some positive progress with your health issues very soon. Guest guest
Here's the main web-site for CFS which is now called CFIDS (Chronic Fatigue and Immune Dysfunction Syndrome.) http://www.cfids.org/ I had it back in the 80's when about 150 people came down with it in Lake Tahoe where I was working on some publicity videos for a ski resort. I'm sure the site will explain the criteria they use to determine if you have it. (Basically it's a set of 8 symptoms out of 12 you have to have for over 6 months.) It's more like a bad case of the flu that just won't go away. It's extremely debilitating. I'm not exaggerating when I say that if you have this you will feel close to paralyzed and can't walk up a flight of stairs or get out of bed. After 15 years of a very active lifestyle (I directed live television shows on location,) I was bedridden for over a year. I was exhausted but found it virtually impossible to sleep. When I did sleep I'd wake up feeling just as bad -- not rested at all. CFIDS is a serious illness that isn't even close to Candida overgrowth (although I think that Candida overgrowth is a big part of it.) It is impossible to hold down a job if you have CFIDS. You disappear. Your life just stops. ~Robin
Guest guest
You most likely have candida, but you should also check with adrenal fatigue, get a saliva test. Also have you also checked in on mercury poisoning? > > I'm upset, frustrated, and spending too much money on things that may not > work. Would love some feedback from this group. Guest guest
It's a saliva test you take throughout the day, you collect four samples of saliva at 8:00am, 12:00pm, 4:00pm, 12:00am, some companies like meta metrix or great smokies diagnostics lab offer this test, but you need a doctor script. go to great smokies website and look at the adrenal cortex stress profile and it will give you more info > Dans un e-mail daté du 20/08/2004 23:19:39 Romance Standard Time, > youngjaem@y... a écrit : > > > > You most likely have candida, but you should also check with adrenal > > fatigue, get a saliva test. > > Could you give more info on this adrenal test? > Thanks. > > Francine > > >
Guest guest
When I had a calcium uptake urine analysis I also had them check my adrenal health at the same time. I figured why not find out as much as I could from one test. I have heard great things about the saliva test. I only mention the other way to test in case someone is already planning on getting their calcium uptake tested. Guest guest
There is a company www.salivatests.com that does not require a doctors script unless you want your insurance company to pay for it Pam [ ] Re: CFS or candida?
