Guest guest
Hiya guys I'm a newbie, another brother living this nightmare that is; Candida Overgrowth / CFS. I'm 31y.o. and from Sydney. Hope all of you are travelling well, at the very least, better than me. Quick intro: I have suffered with this 'mystery illness' for many years, like I'm sure, most of us have. I blow all these candida questionairres off the map with my score. With all certainty, unfortunately, I can say that I have had Systemic Stage 4 Candida for at least 5 years, undiagnosed of course. Moving on, I have been on the diet for 3 months and have not hit that purple patch that so many hit 1-2 months in, on the diet and supplement regime. I have searched endlessly for any possible co- factors that could be contributing to keeping me ill with no luck. Hence, I bare in mind that I shouldn't hit the anti-fungals as yet, 'cos it would create a die off that I couldn't handle, and it would further overload my overloaded liver, for starters. Does my story sound familiar? Has anyone got any advise on my situation? Lottsa LUV
Guest guest
Hi ya, and welcome to our group. I hear ya. Candida is an awful disease. More people may have it than not these days. You may want to check out the diet in my article on the left side-bar which may be different than what you are familiar with. Some aspects of it are very important for curing candida, and for overall health, especially eliminating all " bad " fats and having good fats such as butter, coconut oil, etc., and also eliminating all grains except non- gluten ones, and eating good animal meats (all are explained in my article). Maybe start by tweaking your diet and let's see if we can get you through the first stage of curing your candida. Also check out the files for " Candida Diet in a Nutshell. " Once your diet is corrected you should be able to start on antifungals. Die-off symptoms cannot be avoided entirely, and sometimes the only way to get past them is to push onward and get it over with. Some people do better by starting on probiotics first. Are you taking them yet? Lotsa LUV to you too, Bee
Guest guest
Hey there Most of your diet points are similar ( not all though ). I bit the bullet with gluten a month ago. Jeez I must say that now, to maintain this diet; you have to be of supreme health in order to just meet demands that preparing these meals requires. I wonder if I should just load up on Growth Hormones and swim across a cuppla biggish lakes to Athens!!! On a serious note, I took Probiotics from from day 1 to day 30. Got told to stop as I was contributing to excessive die off, stopped and started again only 3 days ago. Lottsa LUV > Hi ya, and welcome to our group. I hear ya. Candida is an awful > disease. Guest guest
Welcome to the group. I am one of the people who are having to take things very slowly in the fight to reduce the candida. I've been on the elimination diet for about 2 months, and still find I can't tolerate the antifungals, and have to really limit my probiotics due to strong allergic reactions. I do see some signs of progress though; I couldn't handle probiotics at all when I first began, and now I can handle a spoonful of yogurt or a supplement every 2 or 3 days. I think it will probably take me another 2 or 3 months (if not longer...) before handling the antifungals. My gut can't handle too much of a die-off either (I have a number of gastric problems), so I prefer to move slowly. I think taking things slowly is the only way to go for some of us. It's frustrating though. At least you're among friends! Kim M.
Guest guest
Thank you for your response and sorry to hear of your horrid situation. Now I realise that others struggle for a long time to even get a leg up! Lottsa LUV
