Guest guest
<<Most people nowadays, depending upon their age, have probably had candida since they were born, evidenced by ear infections, colds, flus, etc.>> Bee, that's a scary thought. I've been considering the following timescale for my onset of candida at the moment: in 1992 when I was 21 (which is when I was at university and my diet changed for the worse), I developed acne, was prescribed antibiotics over the next couple of yrs for the acne and then suddenly my eczema (which had manifested on my face at puberty but was quite mild) was in full flare, I also developed facial sebborheic dermatitis and progressively rosacea. I didnt really get my digestive problems until about 2 yrs ago, when I was 30. But looking back, up until the age of 10 I suffered fungal infections (athlete's foot) and eczema - though on the back of my legs and arms. My mom and my eldest brother also suffer from the same form of eczema... I always thought it was just hereditary, but it's possible my brother and I were both born with a yeast infection? (I'm pretty sure my mom has a chronic yeast infection as she has some terrible digestive problems and all hospital tests including an endescopy have not revealed the source of her problems - I left her my copy of Crooks book when I last visited for her to read). Guest guest
Hey Mike, You are certainly thinking in the right direction. It is most likely your and your family have had candida all along - you and your brother since you were born. Unfortunately that means it will take a lot longer to overcome your candida. But heck, after being on this program for 2 years, another 2 years will be a piece of cake compared to starting out on it brand new. By then you'll be a pro at good eating! Lucky you. I hope your mom takes the information to heart and starts on the diet. Meanwhile other people are getting sicker and don't know why. Many will wake up one day with cancer, heart disease, diabetes, etc. when the nutrients contained in my diet would have turned that around. A body doesn't get sick from a lack of drugs and medical treatment; it gets sick from a lack of nutrients. I found my taste buds changed so that I craved red meat or chicken or eggs rather than grains and sugars. Guest guest
Well, I guess it's good to be aware that it could take a bit (triple! lol) the amount of time I thought it might take to get on top of my candida. But I'll do anything, as long as it takes - I can't go back to where I used to be, I'm already a million times improved than I was only 3 months ago and I want this to continue. My mom, sadly, is not very open to looking into it at the moment. She feels so let down by her doctors and the failure of all the tests she's had so far, she is kind of digging her heels in and saying " no more " . But I talk to her about what I am going through, and the progress I am making, so I hope in time she will realise it will be in her best interests too :-) > > You are certainly thinking in the right direction.
