Guest guest
Hi everyone, I am rereading Bee's how to overcome.... again. I have some questions. 1) How long for each phase to last? Is there a set time for each one? 2) How long do we have to take the herbs/supplements? It seems that ph will be taking a dozen or more herbs a day eventually, as we progress through this. 3) How do I know it is time to stop taking a specific herb or supplements None of the books or articles that I have read really gives a x, y, and z plan. I am that kind of person that needs something laid out for them to understand how to go about using it. 4) If I am looking for symptoms to disappear on ph then what am I looking for so that I know it is time to move on to the next step/phase? I really appreciate everyone's help. I can see that ph is getting better day by day. He did have a bad day today, going nuts trying to scratch himself. I didn't give him anything that he is allergic to (that we know of) so I assume it is one of those days that you do a lot of healing and then the next day you will feel much better. I hope so! Thanks again everyone! ~ Ouida ~ Wife to Damian, momma to , Abigail, Jubilee Faith, ph and soon to Isabella Grace. --------------------------------- Celebrate 's 10th Birthday! What step/phase are you thinking of doing next that you haven't been doing so far? > I really appreciate everyone's help. I can see that ph is getting better day by day. It's all part of the healing process. Did you give him epsom salts baths? Bee
Guest guest
Hello again Bee, ==>That also depends upon ph's progress. What is he currently taking? I should note that dh and I are thinking we need to cut back on some of the stuff we are giving ph. It seems to be overwhelming his system. With that said, here is a list of what he is taking right now: 1/4 tsp coconut oil a day about 5 vitamin C tablets daily 1/4 tsp liquid chlorophyll 3x daily (sometimes I forget the last dose at dinner time though) 4 acidophilus (= 2 billion cells right now) 1/4 tsp olive leaf extract multivitamin coconut oil 3x daily on skin Euricin up to 8 times daily on skin, minimum 3x daily with coconut oil This is his list, that I can think of right now. I will start keeping track of his symptoms daily. Yesterday he was crazy with itching. I thought perhaps he had too many avocados! Like I said in another post he can eat 2 or 3 and be fine but yesterday something got into him and made him another person. Oh, we are trying to get him in the sun daily too. He spent a hour outside yesterday. I am trying to keep in mind that he will have good and bad days. It is just hard to see him like this and then on top of it I question if I am doing something wrong (such as giving too many avocados) to cause his itching to happen. I know there is good itching for healing, I just wish I knew when it was just due to that! We are trying the Epsom salt baths. The problem is that ph can only sit in the tub for about 5 minutes at the most. Our water is REALLY hard, which is bad for our skin as it is, put that on top of ph going to town with his itching during bath times and it makes for a horrible experience. ph can do major damage while sitting in the tub to his skin. He scratches everywhere, causing his skin to rip open. I have tried to hold his hands, tried distracting, tried bringing toys in the bath, he doesn't care. He is a really good boy but when it comes to him not being able to scratch himself, he turns into a monster. I can't blame him although we don't tolerate a bad attitude from him when he is like this. Thank you for your help again. I appreciate it. ~ Ouida ~ Wife to Damian, momma to , Abigail, Jubilee Faith, ph and soon to Isabella Grace. --------------------------------- Celebrate 's 10th Birthday! The only thing you might consider not giving him is the multivitamin - they are often very inferior, and have been known to upset candida sufferers. My adult friend went off his for a few days and when he tried it again it caused sleep problems. > > I will start keeping track of his symptoms daily. Yesterday he was crazy with itching. Oh, we are trying to get him in the sun daily too. He spent a hour outside yesterday. ==>He could be eating too many avocados. Maybe limit them to 1 per day and see if that helps. Or you may need to rotate them every 4 days or so. > > We are trying the Epsom salt baths. The problem is that ph can only sit in the tub for about 5 minutes at the most. Can you get a filter? But you could try bathing him in an oatmeal bath (tie about 1 cup of oatmeal in cheese cloth); when filling the tub run the water through it, and also swish it in the water well - use it to rub the oatmeal goop all over his body too. It is soothing and healing. >>ph can do major damage while sitting in the tub to his skin. He scratches everywhere, causing his skin to rip open. You are such good parents. God love you all. Bee
Guest guest
Hi Bee, Euricin is a thick cream lotion whatever moisturizer. I just read someone else post that all of the lotions are toxic and damaging. Makes me think about what the Euricin may be doing to his skin. It is really thick and greasy. I have wondered whether it is such a good sealant that it does not allow the toxins to be released through his skin. What are your thoughts on this? When I don't use the Euricin then ph scratches even more so I thought it was helping him but I guess good reasoning can say that if the sealant is NOT on his skin, it allows his skin to work better therefore he would be scratching more! I hope this is not a stupid question but if ph is allergic to oatmeal, is it safe to give him a oatmeal bath? I have really considered oatmeal before but was so scared that it could cause a adverse reaction. I am willing to try anything to see if it will help. We did a baking soda/Epsom salt bath tonight. ph still scratched the entire time but we will try again a couple times tomorrow. I am hoping it brings some relief to him. Bee, I saw that you thought we should stop the multi vitamin. We will do that for sure. Are you thinking that we should NOT stop the rest of the stuff, just to give him a break from everything? Should I continue as usual? I can't figure out why ph suddenly stopped enjoying the olive leaf and liquid chlorophyll. I have to put them in water and then put them in a syringe just to get him to take them now. He does not really fight me on it but he does not like them either. I just have realized that perhaps I should have gone slower at giving him so much good stuff for him, especially when his diet has not been in place for very long. I am confused for sure. We are planning on going on starting a complete candida control diet in May (we are allowing for the fact that when we have our baby, our menu is going to be quick and easy. It is stressful enough having to rest for two weeks while my husband and oldest daughter cares for everything, let alone worry about how to get the candida diet incorporated in our diet). Anyway, we all are going to do the candida diet and slowly add a vitamin or supplement a month. I figure this not only helps our bodies but also our pocketbook. Our grocery budget has skyrocketed from buying lots of veggies, herbs, vitamins and supplements. I don't mean to complain, please don’t think that, we just live on one income and it has been really hard to stretch our budget even further than we were. We are doing without in a lot of other areas because we so much want to make ph better. Let me know your thoughts on this, and friends, just because I always ask Bee for help, I value everyone else's advice too. I just know that Bee has been through it and knows her research so I make sure that she " sees " my emails. Thanks a bunch everyone. My hormones have been crazy lately and I am just a emotional wreck. I am so glad I can come here and have help when I need it, or at least have others understand where I am coming from. God bless you all. ~ Ouida ~ Wife to Damian, momma to , Abigail, Jubilee Faith, ph and soon to Isabella Grace. __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Ouida, I didn't use epsom salt in the bath. Although epsom salts are very good for other things, I don't think it's the right thing for itching. I used only baking soda, it's the baking soda that helped, not the fact that I was in a bath. I had also tried plain water and it did nothing. (I would think epsom salts might be even more irritating if one already had a skin condition as it is a salt). Use coconut oil only on his skin. > I hope this is not a stupid question but if ph is allergic to oatmeal, is it safe to give him a oatmeal bath? I have really considered oatmeal before but was so scared that it could cause a adverse reaction. ==>Sorry, maybe don't try oatmeal. >I am willing to try anything to see if it will help. We will do that for sure. Are you thinking that we should NOT stop the rest of the stuff, just to give him a break from everything? Should I continue as usual? ==>Yes, do continue giving him the rest of the stuff. I usually recommend taking a break from everything, by not taking any of it, except good food and water for at least one day every couple of weeks. >>>I can't figure out why ph suddenly stopped enjoying the olive leaf and liquid chlorophyll. I have to put them in water and then put them in a syringe just to get him to take them now. ==>I don't believe olive leaf is a good to use as garlic, oil of oregano or nystatin. Maybe stop the olive leaf for a couple of days and just give him the chlorophyll. Let his body settle down and adjust to all this. >>He does not really fight me on it but he does not like them either. I just have realized that perhaps I should have gone slower at giving him so much good stuff for him, especially when his diet has not been in place for very long. I am confused for sure. ==>You do want to do only one step at a time allowing time for his body to adjust. Going too quickly, even changing his diet, will cause more reactions and more itching. You could take a step back and make sure his diet is correct for at least 2-3 weeks before adding anything, except coconut oil and chlorophyll. >>We are planning on going on starting a complete candida control diet in May (we are allowing for the fact that when we have our baby, our menu is going to be quick and easy. Good for you! >>Our grocery budget has skyrocketed from buying lots of veggies, herbs, vitamins and supplements. ==>Maybe some of the herbs, vitamins and supplements may not have been required. Keep it simple Ouida. Don't make changes too fast. >>I don't mean to complain, please don't think that, we just live on one income and it has been really hard to stretch our budget even further than we were. Guest guest
Elyse, I thought the same thing as you but I looked it up in several resources and it said it was good for itching. After discussing it with my husband, we decided to try it and if it didn't help we would stop. On a side note we tried just baking soda last night and at first it didn't seem like it was going to help but about 20 minutes after his bath he stopped itching. I don't know if it was the baking soda but today he had a bath before nap (I just layed him down) and the same thing happened (we did have epsom salt too this time). Also, I am a very happy momma to share that last night was the first night in weeks that ph pretty much slept though the night. I don't know if it was the baking soda or the fact that I stopped giving ph his multi vitamin but either way, I appreciate all the advice I have been receiving. Anybody that cares for someone at night knows how hard it is to get up several times a night to care for a loved one. I felt like a new woman this morning!!!! Thanks again! ej <macedgeca@...> wrote: Ouida, I didn't use epsom salt in the bath. Although epsom salts are very good for other things, I don't think it's the right thing for itching. Guest guest
Dear Ouida, That's wonderful news about ph sleeping, and you too Mom! Also that baking soda and epsom salts baths may be alleviating his itching. Keep us posted - okay? Luv, Bee
