I have rosacea. I bought a blue and red acne lamp by Clarity skincare

light modelf10.10 I was told the light have no uv. What is your

thought on this acne lamp? would the light give me more freckels? Is it

harmful? Is there any herb that can help get ride of rosacea?

---> I also have cea and use an all red LED array (home made). You are right

that there is no UV in the lamp you have purchased. It is suggested that all red

light is better for cea skin but see how you find the blue/red combo. I

really don't think the lamp will give you freckles. It is not harmful.

---> My cea has really calmed down since being on this diet. There are way

too many things out there that are recommended for cea and it's plain

confusing! I would recommend you continue with this diet and see how your

cea improves over time.

If you do a file search there is one about cholesterol debunking all the

myths promoted by the medical community and drug companies.

Personally...pre-diet my overall cholesterol was 202, LDL 120, and HDL 56.

After a few weeks on program my cholesterol tested at 154 overall, LDL 72

and HDL 68. These dramatic improvements impressed my doctor enough to make

a believer of her...at least enough to okay me staying on this program. Of

course, I would/will remain on program for life with or without her

approval. The changes in my life are incredible...and I've only been doing

this for 4 months so far.

Forget the worries about cholesterol and enjoy the wondrous adventure of

natural healing. Die-off can be a real pain (in more ways than one) but the

results are sooo wonderful!!

There is info in the files about cholesterol. Weston Price's website has

some great info, I know. (Having done the low-carb thing for a long time,

I've had to arm myself with all the info I can to defend myself from the

nay-sayers.)

On an interesting note though, I had my cholesterol checked the first week

in February when I had a physical. (I still wasn't even being consistent

with low-carb after the birth of my son, and I hadn't started anti-yeast

yet.) My total cholesterol was 229, and my " bad cholesterol " was a little

high. I wasn't worried a bit because I don't buy into that whole

cholesterol thing. When I gave blood the first week in April, they

checked my total cholesterol, and it was 222. (I started anti-yeast

eating on 3/15.) In the middle of June, I gave blood again, and my total

cholesterol had dropped to 205.

60 to 70 per cent of my calories come from fat each day. I'm eating all

kinds of saturated fat (in my meat and with the coconut oil), and

recently, I've been having 4 to 6 eggs per day. I'm doing all the things

that " the experts " say are horrible for your cholesterol. So why is it

going down? *giggle* (That's rhetorical. We all KNOW why it's going

down.)

Oh, and for the record, my triglycerides were 100 when I had my full

cholesterol profile done back in February. I want to know how all this

high-fat eating is hurting me. :)

I haven't done anything for my rosacea, and when I was eating " normal

low-carb " , it wasn't as bad as it is when I eat wheat and sugar and junk.

Then, when I went anti-yeast, it all but disappeared. I've had it for

years and years, so I have some permanent discoloration on my face, but a

lot of it got much less noticable soon after starting the anti-yeast

protocol.

I've just now switched to this olive oil soap that my mom bought me. I'm

hoping it'll help with the intense dry skin that I have. It's BAD on my

face, and the dry skin is the only thing that I actively try and " treat " .

Giving your body what it needs does amazing things. :)

Hi Jen,

I am glad your rosacea calm down. How long are you on this diet to

notice less redness? How often do you use the lamp? do you notice the

differnce?

thanks for the info. I cut sugar, fruits, rice, pasta, high carb

veggies from the diet. I snack on organic butter instead of chocolate

& fruits & junk food. Sometimes I can eat up to 2/3 bar of butter.

am I eating too much butter? I notice when I eat more carb or protein

I can gain weight but not on fat.

Hi ,

I am glad your rosacea all went away from going anti-yeast. how long

are you on this diet to notice the rosacea went away. this is very

encouraging. What do you eat in a regular basis?

Bee suggest putting coconut oil on my face. It does soften my skin

without too much grease.

As soon as I cut out bread/wheat/gluten products, I noticed a significant

difference to my face - for the better! I started very slowly in April and I'm

still between stage one and stage two of the diet. The lemon/sea salt/water

drink ( " Electrolyte Drink " ) also really helps. It goes up and down ( " Healing

Reactions " ) but over all my face is much calmer than before! My face is far less

sensitive now, I get less p & p (and they heal a lot faster), no burning, swelling

or throbbing of the face any more and I hardly ever flush now. It's all good!

I use my red LED array for 10 minutes at night. I would like to do it morning

and night but my boys simply won't allow! Yes, I have noticed a calming effect

on my face from using the red lights too and would recommend it.

I've tried Pau D'Arco tea only once. I didn't really like the taste of it but I

will get back to it eventually. I might add it into my morning egg drink. I so

love the egg drink! I pack it full of all the yucky tasting things and swallow

it down in one go! LOL

I've been eating strict anti-yeast since 3/15/06.

USUALLY, in the course of a normal day, I might eat:

A big stir-fry with 20oz ground beef, a large onion, 6-8 cloves garlic, a

pound of broccoli, and a pound of stir-fry veggie mix. (My favorite

stir-fry veggie mix has asparagus, squash, water chestnuts, peppers,

snowpeas, and onion.) This provides me adequate fat, protein, and

calories for the day.

I've also had days where I'll eat the egg drink for breakfast and roasted

chicken leg quarters for lunch/dinner with broccoli or green beans with

butter. Sometimes I'll mix up the meat. I like steak, roasted chicken,

salmon, and pork. Just depends on the budget and what I'm in the mood

for.

I'd like to note though that I haven't been eating the way I should

recently. I've been strictly on-plan, but I have no appetite. Since I'm

overweight, it's especially important that I get adequate calories, and I

haven't been doing that for a long while.

I keep meaning to give that a try, but I have hardly any coconut oil left,

and I'd rather eat it than put it on my face. The olive oil soap seems to

be working nicely though, so I guess I'll have a good report for my mom.

yerba mate acts as a catalist for the pau d arco) That gives it a

nice lift. I make a quart in the morning when I am making my egg

drink. I use about 1/2 in the egg drink and leave the rest for the

rest of the day. I put a bit of stevia in it to stave off my cravings

for sugar.

Yerba Matte has caffeine, is it ok to have that?

Yes, pau d'arco is a very mild antifungal. From my observations, it has

widespread effects on many areas of the body. It is touted as a cancer

treatment. I don't have personal experience in that area, but I know it

has made some general improvements to my health.

I've been purchasing mine from Prince Imports and preparing it according

to the directions they inclue with the 1-pound bags.

==>Hi . You can't eat too much butter, not only because it is

healthy for you, but also because your body won't allow you to eat too

much fat.
