Guest guest
Dear Eve, Brown rice is very high in carbs and feeds candida. Caprylic acid is derived from coconuts and is processed - coconut oil is much better and it provides good fats for the entire body. Zinc is only required by the body in trace amounts - there is enough in the ocean sea salt recommended. Guest guest
The M.D. I saw once in Feb. allowed fruit, dairy, yogurt w/Splenda, hard liquor and probably other bad things, said that " popcorn and white and brown rice cakes were not allowed because the exploded starch is liberated from the fibrous kernel making it a simple sugar. " I saw my new nutritionist yesterday and she said rice cakes are ok. Beth Re: New to group (Colleen) On 5/28/06 9:18 PM, " jerry upshaw " <upshawjerry@...> wrote: > What about Saki. I know this is an older post, but just getting to it here Just wanted to add that alcohol in ANY form is the absolute WORST thing you can ingest for Candida. Avoid at all costs!! P.S. Sorry, I know it sucks! _jason_ _________ ________ _______ _____ ____ ___ __ _ _ _ > --- Beth Fish <bethafish@...> wrote: > >> An MD I saw once in Feb., who was lenient with the >> diet, allowed these liquors: (cognac), >> Bourbon, Scotch, Vodka, Gin and White Rum. Guest guest
, I strongly recommend that you re-read Bee's main candida article in the second folder in the Files section. Processed foods in general (regardless of whether they have a high carb. content or not) should be strongly avoided while on a healing program such as this. Not only are rice cakes devoid of nutrients, they are high in simple carbohydrates and have a pretty high glycemic index, which undoubtedly spikes insulin levels, which are very well known to be associated with disease states in humans. Additionally, the high pressure process used to puff the rice that is used in making rice cakes creates toxins that are damaging to the body. In my opinion, you would be best to avoid these products completely. Here is an excerpt from the following article on westonaprice.org: http://www.westonaprice.org/modernfood/dirty-secrets.html " In his book Fighting the Food Giants, Stitt has tells us that the extrusion process used for these cereals destroys most of the nutrients in the grains. It destroys the fatty acids; it even destroys the chemical vitamins that are added at the end. The amino acids are rendered very toxic by this process. The amino acid lysine, a crucial nutrient, is especially denatured by extrusion. This is how all the boxed cereals are made, even the ones sold in the health food stores. They are all made in the same way and mostly in the same factories. All dry cereals that come in boxes are extruded cereals. Guest guest
Hi , No, not in the early stages anyway. That is one of the things I introduced in my diet now and then after I felt I had things under control.
