abdominal pain a few weeks after starting the diet

Hi again,

thanks for your reply. It is really a wonderful group, based on a really

wonderful diet.

OK, so let me start one thing at a time. The problem I have is that

after 3 weeks on the diet (with probably too rapid change in reducing

carbs and treating possible candida with antifungals and probiotics all

at once) I got abdominal pain on the upper/middle right side. A few days

it was quite bad and it also went down towards the groin. Then it

disappeared for some days (but never 100%, it always felt tender on

touch), and then kept coming back every few days a bit more. Some days

ago it got worse again (with some stomach pain accompanied which I

didn't have before in my life) and I measure fever up to 100°F on times.

It also went to the left side a bit, and sometimes it feels like my

whole abdomen is totally swollen and tender... shortly, it doesn't feel

too good.

So now I'm really scared. My doctor measured some blood and urine

parameters (CRP, leukocytes, hemoglobin, sediment...). Parameters were

ok, except CRP was 4,5 and there were elevated leukocytes and ketones in

urine, so she wanted me to take antibiotics. But I really don't want to

take them unless necessary, so I'm waiting a few more days resting.

What could this be? I read on JK's site that kidney and gallbladder

stones might come out after on this diet. I already had a kidney stone

once which went away on it's own after terrible pain. Could some stone

be blocking some duct? Or could it be just an infection? But how come,

since I read a lot about such diets and everywhere they all say

infections get really reduced on it... Should I take antibiotics anyways

or first check for stones? And if I really should take them, what can I

do to reduce the harm of taking them?

Regards and thanks again,

Jana
