Guest guest
Ladies of the group: Have any of you noticed increased vaginal itching around the time of your ovulation each month? Boy, have I ever! I'm just wondering if there's any explanation for it. I thought last month when the itching diminished that I was doing better, but then it hit me again this month. I'm using it as my gauge for how my recovery is going: As soon as I don't experience the cyclical itching, I will know that my health is improving. Guest guest
Hi again, Although I've had terrible Candida symptoms, I've haven't experienced any vaginal itching since college and I think I know why... Since living in Japan all those years back, I became a " bath " person. No showers. I buy bulk -- big bags of sea salt, baking soda and Epsom salts. To that I often add tea tree oil or lavender, or bergamot. I also use goat milk soap. I also have a water filtration system on the line so no chlorine or chloramines get in. (There ARE benefits to a major house reconstruction project even if it did kill me!) If I bypass the filter, the water reeks of chlorine so I'm guessing the alkaline environment discourages yeast? I never thought of it that way-- I simply consider my bath my sanctuary. My meditation place. By the way, with these baths I feel I don't need to bathe every day and I feel less guilty about using more water when I take fewer. Also, since the water is so pure, I rarely need to use shampoo -- my hair stays the best when I just " wash " it with conditioner. I shampoo once a week or so. (And I have " fine " hair.) I hope this bath stuff is not Too Much Information. ~Robin _____ From: Anne Hagerty [mailto:ahagertysmith@...] Sent: Sunday, June 06, 2004 8:22 PM Subject: [ ] Cyclical flare-ups Ladies of the group: Have any of you noticed increased vaginal itching around the time of your ovulation each month? Guest guest
hi anne ~ yes, i can relate to the itch! i have had it back for the past few days, and i just ovulated. but i didn't make that connection. i'll keep an eye on the calendar. horribly uncomfortable itch was what got me to take a candida test in the first place! mine is definitely more frequent than just ovulation times. i'm 35, i thought it was hormonal, but the candida diet has helped it. today is a particularly " bad day " though. i mix tea tree oil into some natural liquid soap or shampoo, and use it to cleanse the affected area while in the shower. very soothing and cooling, and combats yeast as well! then i apply coconut oil after bathing. robin~ wow, those filtered baths sound exquisite! our tap water here smells like a swimming pool, its gross, but i do take a salt bath now & then anyway. maybe i can find a filter for the bath spout? we live in an old victorian house that is split up into apartments, so can't get a whole filtration system. but your bath comments are really interesting! i have fine hair too, and it gets fried from having to wash every day (or else it looks greasy). i've always wanted to find a way not to have to wash it so much. > Hi again, Although I've had terrible Candida symptoms, I've haven't > experienced any vaginal itching since college and I think I know why... > Since living in Japan all those years back, I became a " bath " person. Guest guest
Dear Anne, FYI - I wrote a separate article " How To Treat Vaginal Yeast Infection " yesterday and I hope Sherry, our computer guru can post it in the files soon.
