Guest guest
I have gut inflammation(gastritis) and was wondering if I can take slippery elm and marshmallow for it, or ould the herbs feed the candida? Hi, When I am taking anti-fungals I also take GI- Encap by Thorne Research. It has, Plantain Bananas, Licorice, Slippery Elm, and Marshmallow Root. I take one capsule with each meal and it cuts down on bloating and gas. Here is an excerpt from the Modern Herbalist website about it: This highly effective supplement provides rapid relief for both acute and chronic inflammation / irritation of the gastro-intestinal tract lining. Irritation and inflammation of the gastro-intestinal mucosa usually produces abdominal bloating / distention, pain, tenderness, sensitivity and discomfort in the abdominal region. This is often triggered by the ingestion of various foods to which the individual has developed an intolerance, but may also occur ongoingly regardless of what foods are ingested. Cases of Leaky Gut Syndrome, Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Intestinal Candida overgrowth all benefit from the use use of this remedy. Guest guest
Hi there Both these herbs should help with the inflammation, you could also try Aloe Vera, it's wonderful for the digestive track plus it will fight against Candida and L-Glutamine, it's a natural antacid and again will heal the digestive track. Guest guest
Hi, >>>>> I have gut inflammation(gastritis) and was wondering if I can take slippery elm and marshmallow for it, or could the herbs feed the candida? ===>I'm not sure about the effects of slippery elm on candida, but the active part in Marshmallow are large carbohydrate (sugar) molecules. Some commonly used herbs for gastritis, that are very soothing and have been used for candida are: aloe vera juice (one of the best treatments), fennel, dandelion, tumeric, yarrow and ginger. Licorice root is more specifically used for the stomach and duodenum. I hope that helps. Bee
Guest guest
Thanks for the advice, so Marshmallow root is a big no no? > Hi, > > >>>>> I have gut inflammation(gastritis) and was wondering if I can > take slippery elm and marshmallow for it, or could the herbs feed the > candida? > > ===>I'm not sure about the effects of slippery elm on candida, but > the active part in Marshmallow are large carbohydrate (sugar) > molecules. > > Some commonly used herbs for gastritis, that are very soothing and > have been used for candida are: aloe vera juice (one of the best > treatments), fennel, dandelion, tumeric, yarrow and ginger. Guest guest
Thanks, I already got slippery elm and marshmallow root so might give that product a try a little later, but I heard dgl is ineffective if taken by capsule because saliva activates the mucuous properties of dgl > > > I have gut inflammation(gastritis) and was wondering if I can take > slippery elm and marshmallow for it, or ould the herbs feed the > candida? > > Hi, > When I am taking anti-fungals I also take GI- Encap by Thorne Research. Guest guest
I wouldn't say that marshmallow root is a big no no, it's just that there are other more effective herbs. Do you mean Hcl in the stomach. Also what would be wrong about activating the mucous properties of dgl? I've been sucking on dgl tablets lately and it sure settles my stomach. Guest guest
The Dgl needs to be in tablet form so you can suck on it with saliva to activate its mucous properties, so if it is in capsule form it just goes to the stomach with little or no saliva therefore no mucuous effect. Also what brand of dgl tablets do you take, I can't find any with some form of sugar or sugar substitute? > > > > > > > > > I have gut inflammation(gastritis) and was wondering if I can take > > > slippery elm and marshmallow for it, or ould the herbs feed the > > > candida? > > >
