wheatgrass and candida diet

Hi Chef! (and everybody else)

I started cleansing and nutritioning with wheatgrass before I fully

realized that my candida had blossomed once more. Or before I had

consciously decided to do something serious about it. For me, the candida

was there, but just hovering in the background. Keeping me heavy and

tired, but not interfering too much with my life. I looked to the living

foods lifestyle then for some relief of all my nagging ailments. Then my

OBGYN put me on a cream for some scarring problems that were causing me

pain and I noticed that I was even more bloated and moody and unable to

sleep at night. I looked up the cream on the Internet and found that it

was an HRT treatment. Estrogen is one of my biggest candida feeders. Then

I got a very bad lung and sinus infection and had to go on a course of

anti-biotics and the candida moved from the background into the foreground.

I stopped using the HRT and went back to the wheatgrass juice, which I had

stopped taking during the lung infection (just out of laziness) and I was

soon able to sleep again.

I put a hold on the candida diet a few days ago, although I have continued

with the Solray Yeast cleanse and the oil of oregano. My husband is about

to leave town for several months and I decided that going through detox was

something that could wait until he's gone. I'm seriously considering a

wheatgrass juice and broth fast for a few days. (That's the impatient side

of me again) to get the ball rolling. The books all suggest daily enemas

with this kind of fast (to help eliminate the die-off symptoms), so I'll

probably do that as well. I know it's drastic and that Bee recommends we

be more gentle with our bodies, but like some of the others here, I usually

feel best when I don't eat anything at all. That's probably due to the

poor digestion and food allergies. I think that giving an exhausted immune

and digestive system a rest is not a bad idea though I do worry about

further slowing down my metabolism. It's a real dilemma.

Oh, here's a question for Bee: After I begin the candida diet again

(Sunday or Monday), should I immediately begin taking pro-biotics with the

candida cleanses or wait awhile? It seems that the one might kill off the

other, but I'm happy to take some council on the matter.

thanks!

Barbara
