Guest guest
Hey , Check out what Dr. Mercola has to say about the active ingredient in crannberies for fighting bladder and UT infections: http://www.mercola.com/2001/jun/9/bacteria_urine.htm Apparantly bluberries have this as well: http://www.mercola.com/2005/mar/5/blueberries_uti.htm Also, just search his site for " cranberry bladder " or " cranberry urinary " and you should find lots of info. He recommends Mannose, the active ingredient. If all else fails, he says that Macrobid, the antibiotic, is the safest in terms of not causing yeast problems. He states that in the first article from 2001, so I don't know if it is outdated. He also says to take probiotics with the antibiotic. Hope you feel better! Take care, Erek > Has anyone been able to get rid of this without an antibiotic? > I am so sick and nauseated. Guest guest
Thank you Erek and Ouida, I will check out that site. Unfortunately I am allergic to Macrobid. I usually take Sulfer drugs like Sulfatrim for bladder. I wonder how bad they are. I am feeling like I have no choice, but I can try the cranberry. I have heard of it as a preventitive. I have been eating garlic and drinking lots of water just in case it might help. Blessings, Also, just search his site for " cranberry bladder " or " cranberry urinary " > and you should find lots of info. He recommends Mannose, the active > ingredient. Guest guest
Dear , I cured my last bout with urinary tract infection with cranberry juice. It took only 1 quart of the pure unpasteurized concentrated kind from the health store, which I drank over a 3 day period of time. Guest guest
Hi , Garlic contains sulfer. It is best raw and crushed to release its properties. Take 5-6 cloves per day in divided amounts. Guest guest
Not sure if I have one, but it is beginning to burn now, and have been very dizzy and a little nauseous. I really don't want to do antibiotics. What am I to do?
Guest guest
Call your doctor and tell him/her that you want Bactrim. It is a sulfa drug and does not have the same side effects as other antibiotics. But some people can't handle sulfa drugs. It works well for bladder infections. That is the only antibiotic I ever take. Don't fool around with bladder infections. They can be serious. Take Vitamin C 1000 mg. at a time - it will stave off the pain for a short period of time. Also get some pyridium. You can get it OTC and it helps with the pain. Guest guest
Hi Joyce, I sure wish Bee was here to advise you but she's still out of town...I know she would tell you to stay away from antibiotics if at all possible. For a UTI, I think she usually advises to increase Vit. C consumption (not sure how much tho) ...as well, she advises to take PURE cranberry juice....you'll have to try and find one without sugar. that's the best I can do to help you right now....you might also want to investigate Dr. Mercola's website. I did a quick search on it and there is quite a bit of info on bladder infections. Go to: www.mercola.com and use the google search bar near the top of the page. hth, jackie > > Not sure if I have one, but it is beginning to burn now, and have been > very dizzy and a little nauseous. Guest guest
I would definitely check with your doctor first. Bladder infections aren't something you should take chances with. However, if it isn't a bladder infection, the symptoms you're experiencing might be part of die-off. I have Interstitial cystitis, and have discovered that if I have a high level of candida, or other microorganisms following an antifungal or antibiotic, my bladder llining becomes severely irritated. The symptoms of Interstitial cystitis are very similar to a UTI. I've learned that the worst of the symptoms begin to diminish within a day, sometimes less. I've also learned to make sure the doctors culture the urine specimen to confirm infection before I begin any medications. Having Interstitial cystitis means that there's always a higher-than-usual white blood cell count in the urine. I also get a heart rate change, nausea and dizziness more often during die-off periods too. On the other hand I also get these symptoms often during digestion as well because I have developed some functional gastric disorders. Of course some foods also aggravate my bladder too, so I have to limit acidic foods and vitamins, especially vitamin C and B. Makes getting the candida under control a longer process, but it is possible, as I've done so. Kim M.

What am I to do? ==>Joyce, the " drug of choice " for bladder infections is sulphur, which is very high in garlic, and is also in lemons so do have your ocean sea salt and lemon drink 6 times a day too. I suggest garlic tea (4 cups per day) or raw garlic cloves. Also clove spice is very good; have 4 cups of clove tea per day, or 4 drops of clove oil 3 times a day. And even though cranberries have natural sugars, you could use it just to cure your UTI; buy 1 quart of pure unpasteurized cranberry juice; dilute it with water and drink it over a 3 day period of time. ==>Also remember that during natural healing your body will go through previous symptoms, illnesses, diseases, injuries, etc., according to Hering's Law of Cures. It will not be the " real thing " but you will feel all of the related symptoms. Bee

I am slowly changing to a candida diet. Did this changing of the diet cause this infection? > ==>Yes, changing your diet creates natural healing in the body, and like I said before your body will go backwards in time through all of your previous symptoms, illnesses, diseases & injuries, according to Hering's Law of Cures - it will not be the " real thing " but a re- experiencing of it. It's like the body needs to re-cycle through past problems that were previously suppressed, in order to heal. Bee
