Hello, what is the difference between casei and casein? I'm confused.

I've heard that casein is in milk and can cause problems, yet I've seen

casei in yoghurt and do not know if they are one in the same thing!

CAn someone clarify this for me?

thanks

==>First of all, your question about milk and yoghurt is irrelevant to

this group because they are no-nos on the candida diet. However, if

you would do an internet search for yourself you would find this:

" Lactobacillus casei are Gram-positive, facultatively anaerobic, non-

motile and non-spore-forming, rod-shaped members of the industrially

important lactic acid bacteria. They are found in dairy and also plant

products and in the digestive tract of humans and animals.

Lactobacillus casei Shirota strain is the main microorganism used to

produce Yakult, a cultured dairy drink. "

==>Casein is a protein in milk which is difficult for most people to

break down during digestion.

You might try internet searches before asking such questions. Thank

you in advance.
