Guest guest
Hi I have started the diet again at least more strict then I was doing. Any way I took raw garlic one clove pretty big, but I became so bloated gassy, upset stomach, for hours after I ate it. I am allergic to sufla,is garlic to close to that? If not what can I do to take it.It took me along time to go to sleep last night because I was so miserable,as I don't want to go threw this all the time. Another question I do eat cocount oil, thak vit. c and calcuim and mag. but no bowel movments until the thrid day. I ended up taking meg. vit. c last night, and finally got one this mourning. What do I do not to have to go threw this again? I have read the files, just wondering if any one else out there has any thoughts or ideas. Thanks So much, I have made it since Mon. with no chocolate, my big weakness, So I can do it. Went to my doctor yesterday and had all of my womanly, test done:} oh so much fun. I will give the blood test later to you, as I don't really understand totally. DEbbie in NEbr. HAPPY NEW YEAR and yes it will.!!!

That's wonderful! Remember that you need to take things one step at a time, eliminating sugar, grains, etc. If you try to push your body too fast, you will not feel well. > Any way I took raw garlic one clove pretty big, but > I became so bloated > gassy, upset stomach, for hours after I ate it. I am > allergic to > sufla,is garlic to close to that? Garlic does have sulfa compounds in it. Here's a quote on the history of garlic from the Gilroy Garlic Festival (a great place to go!). " Beyond superstition, modern research has confirmed what our ancestors believed and practiced for the health benefits of garlic. Research in 1858, by Louis Pasteur, documented that garlic kills bacteria. During World War II, when penicillin and sulfa drugs were scarce, garlic was used as an antiseptic to disinfect open wounds and prevent gangrene. The properties responsible for these medicinal effects are not clearly understood. Recent research identifies hundreds of volatile sulfur compounds in the herb. Surprisingly, the way garlic is prepared appears to affect its healing qualities. " You might want to just do the elimination part of the diet at first, and get that part down pat. Then when you have gotten rid of sugar and grains you can add the supplements. After all, you're still going through chocolate withdrawals! A week is not a lot of time. Often times we can make ourselves pretty sick by doing too much too fast. > Another > question I do eat cocount oil, thak vit. c and > calcuim and mag. but no > bowel movments until the thrid day. As I understand it, it takes a while for good fats to begin acting in the digestive system -- make sure you get enough of them. You might try doing some enemas, just to clean things out and get stuff moving. I have always found them to be of great help in terms of how I feel. Guest guest
Hi debbie26111 From: " debbie26111 " <debbie26111@...> Subject: garlic and constipation >Hi I have started the diet again at least more strict then I was doing. Any way I took raw garlic one clove pretty big, but I became so bloated gassy, upset stomach, for hours after I ate it. It is far better to go slow. I recently bought the elephant garlic and was eating large bites, only get the same symptoms you describe. I am taking less now and feel much better. A smaller amount, chewed well does nicely. > I do eat cocount oil, thak vit. c and calcuim and mag. but no bowel movments until the thrid day. Coconut oil is to kill the candida. 1 teaspoon a day building up to 3.5 daily then build again to 3.5 tablespoons daily, gradually at your own pace. As for using vitamin c and magnesium to regulate constipation its important to be consistant. Taking it with meals or just after will keep you balanced. Don't wait to be constipated before taking them. Also, magnesium citrate is the better stuff. Another good practice is, try having a glass of warm something, herb tea or even just hot water, first thing in the morning, to stimulate a BM. >I have made it since Mon. with no chocolate, my big weakness, So I can do it. Congrats! I've read that chocolate cravings come from being low in chromium picolinate, magnesium and the B vitamins. I've also found from personal experience if I eat more frequent smaller meals with more fat, like pats of butter or a teaspoon of coconut oil, I have fewer cravings. >Went to my doctor yesterday and had all of my womanly, test done:} oh so much fun. Sometimes I think I only go is to hear her say that I'm getting better! LOL >DEbbie in NEbr. HAPPY NEW YEAR and yes it will.!!! Whoo Hooooo! I am allergic to sufla,is garlic to close to that? ==>Garlic contains " natural sulphur " which is very different than sulfa drugs. You'd be surprised how many foods actually contain sulfur, including lemons. Do a website search and you'll see. Remember that good foods do cause healing reactions, and garlic would definitely be killing off candida, cause bloating, gas, and and upset stomach. Take less garlic next time, maybe even 1/4 of a clove and the reactions will be less. Then gradually increase it over time so you can better tolerate the die-off symptoms. If not what can I do to take it.It took me along time to go to sleep last night because I was so miserable,as I don't want to go threw this all the time. Ensure you are taking equal amounts of cal/mag too. See the Digestion folder for help with constipation, esp. extra vitamin C or magnesium. Thanks So much, I have made it since Mon. with no chocolate, my big weakness, So I can do it. ==>Good for you! If the doctor didn't call you about your blood test it is probably just fine. ==>Happy New Year to you too Debbie! It's onward and upward!
