Guest guest
Hi , It is entirely possible that kefir caused die-off, which increased your symptoms. Kefir has a wider range of beneficial bacteria than yoghurt and also contains beneficial yeasts. I waited for over a year before introducing dairy into my diet, and then only kefir. I've had no problems and feel that it is helpful (late in my program). I also eat the grains when I have extra. I fully realize Bee's cautions about this particular food, but each of us has to evaluate our own situation as no one knows our bodies like ourselves. I believe one primary problem with dairy is due to leaky gut which allows milk proteins into our blood stream. The fact that you had a problem with kefir and not yoghurt makes it appear that leaky gut wasn't the reason, but perhaps die-off. I'm very excited to have recently bought a cow share so that my family can benefit from raw milk and just made my first batch of raw milk kefir. You may want to try the kefir again sometime down the road when you are more symptom free and see how it goes then.
