Guest guest
Try amaranth, millet, and brown rice. I especially enjoy millet. [ ] Help, I seem to be reacting to practically everything! Hi everyone. I've been working towards the full program for the past couple of days, eliminating lots of stuff. It seems that foods that I was just eating a couple of days ago, I'm reacting to including buckwheat and quinoa. I absolutely need to be able to find a grain that agrees with me because eating just protein and veggies is just not enough for me right now. Again, I had no problem with those grains just a couple of days ago. When I eat them, my head gets all foggy and " weird " is how I like to refer to it. I can certainly understand a die off but what I'm experiencing are reactions. Anybody have any thoughts? Thank you. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --

When you first start eliminating things your body has to adjust to each change, in its own way. If you push it too soon or fast it will rebel. I think that sensitivities are magnified once you start eliminating foods that feed the candida. I can't figure out why that happens, but I've seen it time and time again with so many people, including myself. By cutting off candida's food supply of even one source, say sugar, the candida may even be increasing its growth from the others foods you haven't eliminated yet. Candida is fighting for its life here! Anything is possible. >I absolutely need to be able to find a grain that agrees with me >because eating just protein and veggies is just not enough for me >right now. An addiction to grains will make you feel that way, and it is just like an addiction to alcohol or sugars. The candida is calling out to you " feed me " so it makes you " think " you can't do without it. It is also possible that now you've started you won't be able to find a grain you can have, because " all of them " do feed the candida, even buckwheat, millet and quinoa. You might have to " bite the bullet " and settle on eating more veggies and meats. Maybe try eating more times in the day, with smaller meals to keep that craving for grains at bay. Also try to increase fats, which make you feel more satisfied and give you more energy. How about more butter? Last year when I had candida and found that coconut oil was causing me problems, so I had to cut back on it, I used to eat tablespoonsful of butter. It really helped. Hang in there . You can do this without grains. Cheers, Bee
Guest guest
Bee, if I tried to do too much at once, then what could I do that is gradual? I've cut out grains and sugars so what should I not have cut out to begin with? Eating proteins and veggies have never filled me up. I hear ya on eating the butter especially since doing coconut oil for me right now is too much for my body to handle. Bottom line question, how could I go slower? I don't want to eat wheat or sugars. If I can tough it out, should I? Will toughing it out hurt my system if I'm doing too much at once? AARGH!!!!! Thank you.
Guest guest
Hi Carol. I've been pretty lucky in that I never really crave any particular food. I just need to feel full when I eat. In recent years, I've noticed that I need good portions of protein and some carbs per meal so that my body felt nourished or satisfied. It didn't have to be a particlar type of carb. I'm feeling quite weak right now and of course my head is going wacky which is why I was hoping I could find a " good " carb to eat, at least until I felt that I could cut down or eliminate it altogether. As with all of us, I know I'll get there but you'd like to get there in the easiest way possible. Thanks for your support. Luv, Hi . What do you mean you're not making it on neats and veggies. You can have as much of those foods as you want. It sounds to me like you REALLY need to forgoe (spell?) ALL grains for a while until you get your candida under control. I didn't say it would be easy but you CAN do it with the support of this group. Just my thoughts. Hugs, Carol B
Guest guest
Carol, did you go through your die off stage or are you still experiencing it? What did yours feel like? I'm glad you at least feel full when you eat. Do you have energy? Thanks. Hi . I don't feel satisfied w/o whole grain carbs either (refined junk never did satisfy). But I do feel full. I agree with Bee that it's the candida craving for it's fuel. I keep hearing that the day will come when you won't miss those foods but I haven't achieved that yet and it's been about 6 weeks that I've been on this diet. I've cut out grains and sugars so what should I not >have cut out to begin with? , you did it in two days, instead of gradually eliminating sugars, then grains. But you did good, don't get me wrong. I've seen these reactions so much that maybe it doesn't make any difference if you do it fast or slow. It still happens. Maybe there's no way around it. >Eating proteins and veggies have never filled me up. I do understand how frustrating it is. If you can tough it out, please do. Toughing it out will not hurt your system. Your body is dealing with the best it can. ARRGHH is right. Guest guest
Dear Carol, I'm glad you have faith is this diet, etc. It will work for you. It did for me. Did you read my story in the files? I suffered horribly to cure my candida in the mid 80s, but I made it! You will too! Luv, Bee
Guest guest
Hi Joanne. Thank you so much for your suggestions. Guess what I'll be doing this week, yep, experimenting galore. I sure hope I find more than one grain that agrees with me. Next time you make popcorn, don't forget you can put the " real deal " on it - melted butter. Unfortunately I can't do popcorn, as much as I enjoy it, but maybe someday I will. Thanks again. I'm almost salivating, lol. > Hi - sorry if this is redundant as I don't have time to read all the posts & files, but these are the grains I used and it worked for me: > > amaranth > millet > blue corn > quinoa > buckwheat ...... Hugs, Carol B (I may not agree with > everything but I am following the diet :-) ) I'm glad for your sake you are following diet. It can't hurt you that's for sure. You have nothing to lose and lots to gain from good nutrition. Luv, Bee
