Guest guest
Interesting you should say that. I began, last week to gradually include more coconut oil in my diet. For the past 3 days I've consumed about 3 tablespoons a day (I weigh 115). I've noticed a couple of changes: the first is that I've started to feel a bit edgy on the edge of irritation and the second is that, this morning, my stools were floating. Today, I'm eating parts of a roasted fresh coconut. I punched the " eyes' out with a screwdriver and then drained the water out. Then put the whole coconut in a 400 degree oven for 20 minutes. Then crack lightly with a hammer and wait a few minutes for the coconut to cool a bit. The white flesh comes easily off the shell that way. The meat is so tasty. I assume it's good for Candida like the oil is... _____ From: Sherry [mailto:sr@...] Sent: Sunday, May 30, 2004 10:07 AM Subject: Re: [ ] Re: coconut oil/too much Pregnenolone/HRT Oh Gosh Bee it is good to be back. I reformatted and re-partitioned my hard drive and reloaded all my software. I am clean and ready to go. No I don't take thyroid medicine. I just found out a couple of years ago that I only had half a thyroid. I found out when I had one of those body scans. I have had two thyroid tests done and both say that my thyroid levels are fine. I wonder though. As far as the coconut oil causing me trouble. This saddens me as I really love it. Below is a link talking about the coconut oil containing pregnenolone which supports the thyroid and adrenal glands. http://www.mercola.com/2001/mar/24/coconut_oil.htm These are a list of the side oeffects of too much Pregnenolone: Over stimulation and insomnia Irritability, anger or anxiety Acne Headaches Possible scalp hair loss Irregularities of heart rhythm, palpitations Unknown effects on the thyroid gland or other organs Well I am also on progesterone cream for my menopause symptoms and I think I may have been overdosing with the coconut oil. Since I have a vulnerability with my thyroid this could have made it worse. Sherrry

Robin, The Edginess is one of the symptoms that you are getting to much. But I wonder if maybe it is also a side effect of killing the Candida. If you start getting palpitations I would cut back.
