It is supposed to be designed to withstand stomach acid and make it to the GI tract intact. I did a search of the archives but there was no mention of it. http://www.kirkmanlabs.com/products/probiotics/culturelle/Culturelle_C _Spec813.html thanks, TK _________________________________________________________________ Help STOP SPAM with the new MSN 8 and get 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail
Guest guest
My doc really likes Culturelle, which is Lactobacillus GG (LGG). Apparently it's a patented form which resists stomach acid better than the average. Culturelle is the only probiotic in the U.S that contains LGG. I've used it, seems effective but I haven't used it enough to know if it's better than average. I've noticed, as have friends, that probiotics will seem to work for a while, then lose effectiveness. So we always rotate them. penny > > Hi, > > Just wanted to share w/the list about a Probiotic my mother took recently > while taking a very strong course of Doxycycline for Mycoplasma. Guest guest
I was looking at culturelle. Lactobacillus GG is one of the most studied. It's probably a very good strain. Seems like they're charging a lot tho. > > > > Hi, > > > > Just wanted to share w/the list about a Probiotic my mother took > recently > > while taking a very strong course of Doxycycline for Mycoplasma. > Her stomach > > was really bothering her and she was feeling awful in all that > lower region. > > So he gave her samples of this VSL # 3 Probiotic that is used to > treat > > Ulcerative Colitis, and is being researched for IBS.
