Hmmm...does anyone think that, since my body is too alkaline, that drinking

acidic selzer could help that??? Just a thought.

Yes carbonated water is better, but because it is carbonated it is not ph

neutral. I think it is very acidy, which is what we are to avoid.

I drink unflavored seltzer and carbonated mineral water. I don;t know what

it is, but somehow, I need that carbonation. There must be something to

drink that is refreshing. I really am not crazy about water at all.

What about herbal iced tea? I use to like Red Zinger and also peppermit. How

is that? I don't want to throw myself into another crisis. I am just getting

over the Sprite.

Which

+++Hi ,

Selzer is not on the list since it is not an acceptable liquid, which I don't

have time to explain. There are no commercial bottled drinks that ARE

acceptable. If any were acceptable I would have included them on my list.

These are the acceptable liquids/drinks on my list, and some are homemade:

- Bee's Egg Drink

- Broths

- Swiss water processed decaf coffee

- Egg Milk

- Tea (but not too much since they make your body lose water along with

minerals)

- Good water from your tap that is filtered with a charcoal filter like Britta

or Pur

Bee,

Are you kidding??!! I'm drinking seltzer, almost every day......

Do you think, my 2 months on the diet was waisted, if I drank seltzer??

How about Perrier, (or any other, natural mineral water....) Is it any better??

Thanks

+++Hi ,

Seltzer water is high in sodium salicylate, which a kind of salt, so like baking

soda it is diuretic making your body lose water along with minerals. It is also

carbonated by carbon dioxide.

Carbonation is created by pumping carbon dioxide into water or other liquid.

Carbon dioxide is a waste product of cellular and food metabolism, so the body

works hard to expel it. So why would anyone want to further add a waste product

to their body? Carbonated beverages also burden the body and it is hard on your

teeth.

As the carbonated water fizzes and bubbles in the stomach, it can cause a

buildup of air, and this can lead to loud belching. This belching can sometimes

become uncontrollable. This buildup of air can also cause abdominal distension,

or bloating. If enough carbonated water is consumed, you can suffer from

painful, chronic bloating.

The carbonation also causees calcium loss in the bones through a three-stage

process:

1. The carbonation irritates the stomach.

2. The stomach " cures " the irritation the only way it knows how. It adds the

only antacid at its disposal: calcium. It gets this from the blood.

3. The blood, now low on calcium, replenishes its supply from the bones. If it

did not do this, muscular and brain function would be severely impaired.

Perrier is a natural spring water, however they also carbonate it like they do

seltzer water and other carbonated drinks.

All the best, Bee
