I'm not particularly fond of antifungals but they can serve a purpose. A

year on nystatin is a very long time.

I'd suggest that you take a probiotic and inulin, then you can go off the

AF in due course.

Olive leaf extract is good, and so is grapefruit seed extract.

If you are mineral deficient you can't make your own enzymes. Bowel

diseases make people mineral deficient. I'd recommend minerals over

enzymes.

Sounds like you need a stomach acid boost like betaine or glutamic acid.

The stomach can not release food that is under-acidified into the

intestine.

Sharon: I respect and welcome your personal experience and your work

expertise, and I ask that you respond in kind and please try to keep

to the topic of health.

I didn't attack you, your approach, or your product; I pointed out a

couple of contradictions and showed references that support a reason

for mentioning them. This is the kind of dialogue our list mates

prefer, and decent information sharing and even differences of

opinion is the reason our group is the largest and most scientific

bowel health group on the Internet.

To answer your question on capsule preference, the VSL#3 that several

are using on this list is a packet, not capsules, and indeed it's not

a product I sell. However, most people on this list I think are

getting great results with whatever capsules they bought if they're

taking enough of them, and others are getting great results with

enteric-coated capsules. This is probably because they are dissolving

as they are supposed to. Sure, a few people can't dissolve a gelatine

capsule just as a few prefer kefir to OTC probiotics, but generally

speaking, gelatine or veggie caps dissolve very quickly.

For interest sake, I have had a huge improvement in my health by

changing the probiotic that I take. I used to take a 4 strain probiotic

with enteric coating. Then I was talked into taking a SBO probiotic

with some food based probiotics, but without an enteric coating. We

switched recently to a 9 strain probiotic (4 lactobacillus and 4

bifidera and one for lactose intolerance) with enteric coating and the

improvement in our health was almost immediate!

For those interested, the one I take is by Nutrilida and is called

Probiflora Intensive. I don't know if it is only sold locally or

internationally. It is not that expensive either. For the first time

ever since going on this regime, I've actually cut the amount I spent!
